Question about Computers & Internet

Hooking up a Kworld SA240 Wirless AV/PC to TV. Everything is working except the picture on the TV is continuously scrolling like the vertical hold is out. I"m thinking this has something to do with the refreash rate but not sure. I've tried the other refresh rates available on the pc in control panel but that's not helping.

Changing to NTSC helped with the vertical hold probklem but now that I can see the screen it is very out of focus. I have tried adjusting the sharpness control on the remote but that seems to have no affect. I am using my HDTV as my external monitor and running in clone mode. Is there something I can do to imrove the TV resolution so I can actually read what's written on the screen?

Hi and welcome to FixYa,

Initially and depending where you are, the color system has to match (PAL or NTSC). To my understanding the KWorld SA240 is set to PAL by firmware default and must be changed to NTSC. This could only be accomplished by the OSD (on screen display) settings through the remote.

Good luck and Thank you for using FixYa. Happy Holidays.

    Appreciate the comment/postback.

Understand that the vertical issue has been addressed. For your other concern, pls post back the brand and model of the TV,what is the screen resolution of the computer as well as its refresh rate.

    Cheers.

Try switching the input channel on tv until you get the right input.

If the TV is connected using a cable, try a different cable, and test the connection.

Try first switching through input channels, to ensure you picked the right one.

Then go to Control panel>>Display properties, and adjust resolution and display refresh rating. Initially put resolution: 640x480, and refresh rating same as TV value 60/75/85 Hz.
Then increase resolution up to maximum supported.

Additionally, if you are using a laptop, go to >> start-up >> open the execute/run command box and type>> “DXDiag” >>open “DirectX” >> Select FORBIDDING of DirectDraw accelerate option.

Same opf your games may not work with this settings.

you might have to open up your network connections click start control panel network connections this may vary depending on your operating system look for local area connection if you see a red x or a yellow exclamation or question mark you will need to update or install the driver or it could be firewalled
make sure your modem/routers settings are correct ie:password user name, firewall settings to allow your internet to connect also test the lead/s whether usb or ethernet you might check your modem first to make sure that you are getting a connection
click start control panel administrive tools computer management device manager scroll down network adapters + expand Ethernet driver you might see a yellow question mark? This means you need to update the driver right click you will have options to update driver disable uninstall or select properties general you will have the options to troubleshoot or to update driver rollback or uninstall
a yellow? question mark means you need to install/update driver right click to install driver
last resort ring your ISP internet sevice provider get them to check your modem for internet access online
hope this helps

it could be an electrolytic capacitor or the vertical output I.C. in the vertical circuitry,if you remove the rear cover tap on the board in different places and see if the picture fills out or atleast jitters like it might fill out, then it could be just a cold solder joint, then remove the main board and resolder all joints and this should repair the condition you have

Color bars only on KWorld PC to TV - Composite and SVideo

found this reference it may be of help

This product appears to be defective. I connected it to a working video camera that produces an excellent picture on a standard monitor. I looped the video from the camera through the monitor to the converter which is connected to a new ACER LCD display. The LCD display workes perfectly when connected to my computer. Using the converter, the results are poor. You can see the desired picture in the background but in the foreground there are horizontal bars that scroll vertically through the picture. I'm returning it for an exchange - will try again.

You may have a bad tube or light if its a projection tv, try a different set of cables first and if you have the same problem, hook up the device to another TV, if it is still red the you know the device is bad, if not, the TV you are hooking it to may not be compatible

This may be happening because VGA cable is too close to a power cable.
