Re: I hve audio but no video with Xbox 360
Red ring is not the only problem with Microsoft Xbox 360. This amazing
device also has some more common problems like Audio but no video
problem, disc read error etc. Microsoft is providing extended warranty
only for red ring problem. Means you will have to spend some money to
get this problem repaired also if you plan to send your xbox to
Microsoft, you will have to wait for 3-4 weeks to get back your
favourite Xbox. There is one more option in the form of DIY guide, this guide explains solving No Video problem with step by step instruction, so any novice can fix this problem
As of October 2008, a new motherboard configuration called "Jasper"
which uses a 65 nm CPU & GPU is used in the newer manufactured Xbox
360 models. Because this new motherboard configuration is said to
produce less heat, it might have a positive effect on the failure rate.
The "Jasper" consoles require less power to run and use a 150 W power
supply unlike the previous revision "Falcon" which used a 175 W power
supply. It has been noted that these newer models have 256 MB built in
flash memory instead of the 16 MB memory from previous models which
many people believe is for the installation of the New Xbox Exprience,
which requires 128 MB of free storage space to function correctly, the
remaining space can also be used for the users to save games and other
content onto it, rather than an external storage device such as the

well it depends if you hve an old tv or a new flat screen tv and your xbox should come with a cord that has three prongs (red, yellow, and white) and u go behind the tv and plug them into the tv in the colored spots that match the prongs.
Bad very bad.
It's bad solder connections under the G.P.U.
Trust me I know, I re-flow about 2-3 a day .
but the units are normally about 2 1/2 -3 years old
and 60% are Microsoft reworks. you can tell this by
a black dot on the safety seal .
You have 2 options Fix it you self , if done right you should
get 2-9 months sometimes more.
Or have a shop re-flow the G.P.U. . cost 80.00 or so.
you should get 3-12 month hard to say with these unit.
Double check TV is on video 1,2,3 same for 360s yellow video out.
If then you still have audio only ,the G.P.U has open connections
form the video feed to the mother board Solution, you must have the G.P.U re-clamp to the main board.
That Works. 99% of the time.
If your TV is HD, you should definitely be connecting the component video cables (green, blue and red) from the 360 to the TV (the 321 will not do video pass-thru from component cables).
-Make sure you have a picture at this point. (TV switched to whichever input you connect the 360 to)
You can get an RCA extension cable for the audio portion (red and white) to connect to the 321 for audio. You could also connect an optical audio cable to the 321. An optical cable must be assigned from the system menu to work..
Let me know if this helps.
it sounds as if you have a connection unhooked or loose somewhere. Double check all audio and video cables are secure and in the correct position. If that doesn't work try troubleshooting by trying a different tv or removing all connections from tv and xbox and re-hooking everything back up.
Very often on HDTVs there may be more than one YPbPr connection... That is the Red Green and Blue. Under each one, or next to, or above, there should be separate red and white audio hookups for each set of YPbPr hookups.
Make sure they are hooked into the corresponding plugs.
