You need to enable the webcam by pressing Fn+Esc or Fn+F10 key combination. Also see if you can find the latest version of drivers on the lenovo support website for Windows 7 or at least Windows Vista. If it still doesnt get detected at least in device manager, try flashing the system BIOS to the latest version available on lenovo support website.
This web site has drivers for XP and Vista 32 bit for your laptop. As with most laptops, there are multiple drivers for the same category of device - Wireless LAN has 3 different drivers for XP alone.
You will need to download ALL available drivers and try each one. The internal chipset is typically not listed and you will need to "guess" which driver will work. Downloading all and trying each one is the only sure way of getting the device to work.
When you download the Tinkpad device drivers, they need to be the XP or Vista versions that match the Windows that is installed on your laptop. When you run the driver programs they will be unzipped/expanded to the hard drive in a folder c:\drivers. Then you need to open the various folders and run the setup programs to install the various drivers. NOTE - The Thinkpad laptops are installed with various different manufacturers devices (eg. there are a few different wireless model LANs). Therefore your laptop may have different hardware devices to another Thinkpad even if they are the same model. If one version driver doesn't work you need to install a different one. It is a bit of trial and error to find the right one.
