What do the three lights on the top right of the 920c HP printer indicate?

Hi,

The first light (from left to right) is the Print Cartridge Status.

This will flash if one or more of the ink cartridges are low or the cartridge incorrectly inserted. Also flashes if the wrong type of cartridge inserted.
If the ink is low the light will stop flashing when you open the top cover of the printer.

The second light is the Resume Light.
This will flsh when anaction isequired such s loading paper or clearing a paper jam.

The third light is the Power light.
This will flash green when the printer is printing.

Hope this helps you. Thanks for using FixYa.

Hp deskjet 882c printer carriage is stuck

Hi first of all you need to make sure that everything is in good shape on the carriage and the cartridge holder,

also check if you have any broken plastic pieces in the printer.

you mentioned the reset a well
was it a partial or a semi full reset

another thing which we can try is
1>take out both the cartridges
2> unplug the power cable while the printer is on
3>press the power button for 30 sec to remove the static
3>replug the power
now let the printer lights blink prompting you to put the cartridges
4>put the black cartridge first
some Hp printers work on single cartridges as well.
5>see if you hear the same grinding noise again
6>try cleaning the rollers with a little damp lint free cloth
7>try putting the color cartridge
make sure that the cartridges snap inside properly.
8>see if the problem persists

Problem with plotter

Are the lights flashing? If they are flashing it is a system error, if they are on steady it is a recoverable error. When you push cancel is the media light the only one or is align media or ready on as well?

Solid red light after flashing firmware

These are the 3 things listed as being wrong for the status light being solid red:
1. Media is out. Reload a new supply. Press feed button to
continue.
2. Power-up failure. Switch power OFF then back ON.
3. Printer ready to receive flash programming during
firmware download.

There's a programming manual available for download on Zebra's website: https://www.zebra.com/id/zebra/na/en/index/resource_library/manuals.results.html
It might help.

Printer lights stay on

Hi geoger, Can you give more detail about the lights and if they flash and in what sequence. The most likely cause is that your machine has hit the maintenance error meaning that the waste ink pads are full. This requires that the pads be cleaned/replaced and the counter within the firmware be reset. To do this, you will need the service manual for the 1290 to dismantle it and gain accesss to the pads and the software to reset the firmware counter. You should be able to get these from: http://www.TheServiceManualShop.com and/or http://mikeburton.tradebit.com/
