Question about HP LaserJet 1020 Printer
My printer has been stopped for a while and I have recently began using it again.
The problem is that the entire page, on a vertical right side strip of about 3 to 4 cm is entirely smeared, especially on the areas where there should be. You can also see a very noticeable amount of toner on the top edge of the paper (the edge that first enters the printer).
It's like it was a brush smearing the paint right after printing.
I can also notice a very slight indentation that separates this smeared vertical band and the rest of the page, that prints fine.

Hi Are you using OEM or rebuilt toners? If your using OEM and your able to smear the ink with your finger more than likely you have a fuser problem?. If your using rebuilt cartridges it could be the cartridge. Good Luck!!

If the toner smears after the page comes out of the printer you may need a new fuser. The fuser is the heating unit in the printer and can usually be seen from opening the back door. Check and see if it has a line worn down the same side as the mark on your pages.

the problem is the fusing film of the printer. go to a store and try to change the fusing of your printer. email@example.com
