Question about Canon PowerShot SD800 IS / IXUS 850 IS Digital Camera
I cracked the lcd screen and ordered a replacement from canon parts. Installation seemed to go smoothly. When i power on the camera, the screen only displays white. I do not get an image, or a response from any of the buttons.
Sounds like the LCD ribbon cable is not seated properly in the connector. Did you unlock the cable before disconnecting the old one and then lock down the new one? Try taking it apart and putting it back in again.
Is there any damage to the ribbon cable or the gold contacts at the end of the cable? If so, the LCD is ruined and not useable.
If you like we offer an LCD installation for only $25 if you already have the LCD. Google search "digital camera parts", we are first on the list: Darntoothysam com
