Actually I have the same problem but the GE refrigerator side by side model # is GSH25JSRF SS. Based on the given solution, I guess that even I need to change the relay board. Any help in getting this part ? Is it easy to fix or should I call appliance repair guy ?

    Thanks
    Jeet

That clicking relay is a sure sign of a bad control board. I've seen many of these go bad. You need to replace the board, it's an easy job. The board is held in with 4 plastic clips. Just pinch them down with a needle nose and pull out gently while doing this. Then plug in the harnesses to their respective terminal. Tenbears

How do I troubleshoot GE GSS25LGPABB sbs: no freezer, now no fridge?

everything runs through the computer board on the back of your machine, part number wr55x10942.pull your machine out away from the wall and on the back right side bottom you'll see the cover for the board, unplug the machine and remove the cover, look at the board, you'll see black relays on the board, the new board has all 7 relays,if your board doesn't have all 7go here and see it most likely this is your problem.everything runs through the board, have you noticed your fans running at different speeds or anything else like that
http://www.repairclinic.com/PartDetail/Main-Control-Board/WR55X10942/1531075another thing it sounds like you have no compressor, all that happens is the evaporator coil in the freezer gets cold, the evap fan blows the cold air from the freezer over to the fridge side so if the freezer is down the fridge side is going down too.here's a picture of the board
http://www.flickr.com/photos/zenzoidman/4482598198/sizes/o/in/photostream/
if you look at the diagram it tells you that if you jump out j8 and j11 the compressor should start,i've never done this but i did jump out j9 and j11 to check the defrost heater and thermostat.hope this helps you out and good luck, also if you do jump it out and the compressor doesn't run you can check the overload and relay on the compressor for continuity but most likely you have a bad computer board.

Cut everything off for a few minutes then turn it back on and listen for a click from the compressor relay as the compressor tries to start.
Is the compressor motor running. If no check starter/overload relay.
Check to see if the condenser fan at the back underneath near the compressor is running. If no check fan.

Are the condenser coils near there warm or room temp. should be warm

Is the evaporator fan in the freezer running. It blows cold air into the fridge side through a damper in the wall between the freezer and fridge. Make sure the damper is open.

Below the evaporator fan is the evaporator coils. Remove the back cover in the freezer to observe the frost pattern. Light frost everywhere(NORMAL) or a partial pattern of ice(LOW ON FREON) or nothing(LOW FREON OR COMPRESSOR PROBLEM).

Something has malfunctioned on *********** control board part number WR55X10942 This board controls most functions of the refrigerator. It would be simple to say change the board but this is the first time I have seen one affect so many different controls that I recommend that a service technician come out and make sure that something other that that board is not affecting the other controls on your refrigerator. Please let me know what the technician finds, Thanks, Sea Breeze

Ge fridge makes a clicking noise fan in frezzer

Main control board bad . The board controls the fan opperation and the clicking , sounds like a relay on the board . Replacing the board should solve the problem(s) .

HotPoint fridge clicks and the fan doesn't turn

14 vac indicates a bad motherboard.Clicking could possibly be a bad start relay on the compressor.
Relays are inexpensive. I would replace the relay and hope for the best. Next step would be the motherboard that GE has had trouble with from day one

GE MODEL GSH25JSRF-SS PROBLEM HELP PLEASE

I had the same problem back in March. First the water and ice dispensers stopped working, then the clicking started and the compressor wouldn't turn on. I replaced the circuit board and everything started working again, until today. This is a very common problem with the circuit board on these refrigerators. Do a search for "GE circuit board" and you'll see what I mean. GE issued a service bulletin to its technicians that this service should be provided free of charge, and anyone who already paid to have the circuit board replaced will be reimbursed. I wish I would've known about it 6 months ago. I will be calling GE Consumer Affairs on Monday to get this resolved.

Freezer fine /After power went out twice fridge not cold enough

In back of the refrigerator is a removable panel behind which is the compressor. Listen for a hum and a click. If you hear those sounds the compressor may have failed. Behind that same panel is a condenser where heat is removed from the refrigerating system. Make sure it is clean and check that the fan operates when the compressor runs.

Relay clicking, not cooling either side

First of all Give me model# and Serial#.
you will most likely have to replace main control board and evaporator fan motor. They have had a service bulletin out on this problem.

Fridge is not 'freezing', Looks like fan stopped working

could be due to ice build up jamming the fan. take back panel off and check for ice. if ice present the defrost system has failed. also on some models, the fan stops when door is opened. check door switch is operating
