Question about Hotpoint RGB745 Gas Kitchen Range
MY hotpoint RGB745 gas oven's temperature is off, sometimes as much as 200 degrees. It seems that the problem would either be with the temp sensor in the oven or the temp controller built into the digital clock. How can I find out which one is bad?
If you have a ohm meter you can ohm out the temp sensor. It has a harness that connects in the back. Unplug it and it should read around 1100 ohms at room temp. It sounds to me more like the ignitor itself. It has to draw so many amps to open up the gas valve. Check the sensor first. If it ohms out, change the ignitor. I think your problem will go away.
