Re: Lost Picture

Don't know why the images would delete whilst transferring via a reader. Unless you are hitting the wrong button somewhere along the line. When you put the card in the Reader- describe what you do. -----------------------o0o----------------- Meanwhile you can get your images back by downloading from - PCInspector. Install the program and run it with the card in the reader.

I am user of L20 I have lost the cable to transfer pictures from memory card to pc how can I get transfer the pictures through card reader? Thank you

The best way to download pictures from your camera to your computer involves removing the memory card from the camera and plugging it into a card reader (either built-in to the computer or connected via USB or FireWire). This is likely to be faster than connecting the camera to the computer, and won't run down your camera's batteries.

Once the card is plugged in, it will appear to your computer as a removable drive. You can use the operating system's drag&drop facility to copy pictures from the card to the computer's hard drive. Or you can use any photo catalog/transfer program, such as Nikon Transfer.

If you want to continue using the camera as a card reader, you can order a new cable at

Lost installation cd

You can easily download pics using a separate card reader. You don't need the camera or the missing cd. 69ce415.jpg

File error

It is picture file that stops file transfer function, delete that picture and continue or go to memory card through my computer > mass storage drive and delete that file or copy rest of files and past in computer some where like my documents etc.
That particular picture file DSC03270.jpg is incomplete/ corrupted and causing problem in files transfer operation. Either delete it or bypass it and transfer rest of files from camera.
After transferring files to computer, format memory card to avoid any problem in next time as option would be in camera menu.
Let me know if you have additional question.

Can't transfer all pictures from camera to computer

It's very hard to troubleshoot software problems online, and it likely is a software issue. But why put up with the headaches of bad software in the first place? Please see the following blog article, as it describes the use of a card reader as a much easier, faster, and less error prone way to download your photos. In fact there are several important reasons discussed in the article for using a card reader vice downloading from the camera. Try PC Inspector "Smart Recovery" from the following listing. Select "Intensive" mode from the File/Settings menu. The program may need to run all night in this mode. If this doesn't recover the photos, am afraid then that they're permanently gone.

You have to use a card reader either on your computer or an external USB card reader. Put the card in the card reader, open the recovery program, then select the drive where files are deleted, then press "Start" and wait for it to do it's magic.

Transferring photos in folders to picture project

have you tried to copy and paste them? If it works and you no longer want them in 'my pictures' then go back and delete them after they have been moved. I always back my photos up on cd or dvd before i move or change them just incase they get lost.
