you need to push the reset button in the back its a tiny pin hole. stick a safety pin or a bobby pin. in there and hold down for like 10 secs. if that dont help then you may need to send it in.
Turn the player on. HIt the power button again. Push the - or + button and scrool down to what you want. Pictures, music, video etc. then push down the arrow buttons and hit the that should do it.

I was having the same problem as the rest after hooking my RCA S2001 MP3 player up to my new computer that is running Windows Vista Home. I did the following to fix my MP3 player on my old computer which is XP Home.
I fixed my player by loading the latest firmware version (1.5 at this time and can be found at http://www.rcaaudiovideo.com/product.aspx?product=124&post=6 ). After you load this application to your computer you access the update device application from the start menu/programs/RCA digital Audio Player/Jet/Update device. One thing that I had to do that had not been mentioned yet in this forum was selecting "Format data area"
Doing this wipes your device completely clean but it allows for you to keep using the device. The update device program will give you additional information after the update and format.
This should fix your device if not contact RCA through the same website above to ask additional questions.
Well, if You have a Windows Computer with Windows Media Player 10....then all You have to do is synchronize it with your Media Player....If you don't have atleast Windows Media Player 10....then jus simply upgrade your Media Player.....If You have an Apple Computer....Wait for the MP3 to pop up on your desktop...and simply drag your files from itunes to your MP3 player file....
