Volume Just recently I have a volume issue. The volume used to be loaud at setting of 24 now I have to turn it up to 35-40 o hear it. I have tried different speakers but that does nothing for it. Any suggestion as I woul prefer to fix this than buying a new tv.

Re: Volume

I have the same problem with my 51S500 which just started. I used to have it set at 12-14, now needs to be 25-30. Playing DVDs is not affected. External speakers hooked into the external speaker jacks are affected.

Volume on tv is shut off

It may have been set in to mute mode, check it out through your remote. If you have done this and found that it is not, it may be on the cables.
Pull out all cable that is connected and pull it in again one by one and try to hear if sound is being restored.

No sound

check the simple things first:

In menu are speakers switched ON or OFF?

In set or a box if used is volume turned low or off? (unplug box if used and wait--plug it back to see if a reboot of the box cures the issue.)

If set has hookup for external speakers make sure the setting is INTERNAL.

If using a receiver inline check volume is not down low and unplug and reboot it also.

There is a faint buzzing sound coming from the 50HDX82 TV. If I turn up the volume of the TV, then one does not hear it, but if you do the '1/2' mute, you hear it a lot, if you mute it completely, you do...

I know this will sound stupid but try it, unplug just power cord, leave it unplugged for 2 hours then plug it back in. This will reset it to factory setting and if this issue was caused by a power issue it will fix it.

I have a mitsubishi wd-60735 tv when i turn the tv on nothing comes on only hear the volume and screen just pitch black?

Did you recently replace the lamp? If you did then it might be the new lamp. I mistakenly bought an aftermarket lamp to replace mine and it would not work consistently. Apparently if it is not an Mitsubishi original lamp it has issues, because after I replaced it with a Mitsubishi lamp it worked perfectly fine.

Volume problem

if you are using a cable box check to see if there is volume buttons on the box, if so turn the volume up on that first. you should not need to adjust it again unless someone turns it down. some of the cable boxes had volume controls on them for convenience but I have found them to be a nuisance.

Picture too large for screen

If the television is connected to a cable box such as Time Warner's HD box, the picture mode can be changed by pressing the '#' on the cable box's remote keypad (where the channel numbers are). This cycles the picture between zoom, normal, and stretch which could be cause of your problem.

My problem is solved. There is a separate volume control on my HD cable box that had been turned down. By turning it back up the issue was corrected.
