OKI c5750 - fatal error 918

OKI c5750 - intermittently get a fatal error 918. It's to do with the duplex unit (apparently). Sometimes it clears if I switch off and back on, and sometimes I have to pull duplex unit out to print single sided. So far it's always started up again (eventually) but I need the duplex (it's why I bought it).

SOURCE: laserjet 4250 not dupexing

Had this same issue on my 4250dtn. The solution in my case was that both paper trays were set to "custom". This is a small lever on the right side toward the back of the paper tray. Even HP was stumped on this. Hope this helps.

SOURCE: says a front paper jam but no paper jammed any where

Your paper feder belt has ink on it and will not feed the paper. Remove the rubber belt and clean it good and clean and use compressed air on the printer tray area. If this does not work open the front feeder tray and set your computer to print from it. After about 500 copys it will normally have c leaned itself and be ready to feed from the main roller.

Reset drum oki c5750

I am impressed with the analyses and the solution to drum reset Paul Lorentze gave but I don't know if it is also applicable to Oki C5750. If so, I will like to know where to connect those two electrical wires that will be demonstrated and act like a fuse. Kindly give me an urgent answer to this please.

ecblank.gif ecblank.gif Summary: Printer has displayed a "Fatal Error" message. This simply means a problem has occurred requiring you to take action. It does NOT mean that your printer has "died". ecblank.gif ecblank.gif ecblank.gif ecblank.gif
ecblank.gif ecblank.gif Your printer display or status monitor may read "Fatal Error". This simply means a problem has occurred requiring action to clear.
A "Fatal Error" does not mean your printer will "die". Fatal Error explanations are not usually found in the User's Guide or Handy Reference Guide.

RECOMMENDED NEXT STEP: First, try turning off your printer then turning it back on. If this does not clear the message or remedy the problem, check to see if your printer is on a power strip (or not plugged directly into the wall). For testing purposes, be sure the printer is plugged directly into the wall. Often, the issue is power-related.

Second, if the issue persists after this, write down the message (including the 3-digit error code number) and email us at "support@okidata.com" or call Oki Data Customer Support (1-800-654-3282) for assistance.

NOTE: If you see a series of letters and numbers(scrolling across the display) after the 3-digit error code, be sure to write these down also and report them when call or emailing Customer Support.

Oki 9800 230 fatal error

No reset need to fix fault then clears...check toner carts are secure on drums, all their contacts are clean,

Replace Toner Cartridges with Gen OKI new ones... are you using non oki product? Cause Toner carts, thats where I would start looking cause the error is the machine not receiving correct information from a little chip built into the toner cartridges to allow operation to begin.
