Tape not working on Panasonic NV-DA1

My Panasonic NV-DA1 has been working flawlessless for ages..That is until today. I just finished downloading some footage and tried to eject the tape and the door will not open. The RED camera button flashes and the screen shows F01 and you cannot switch to VCR mode or use the machine at all. However it still Zooms and focuses OK.
I cannot find the user's manual.
Please help if you can

SOURCE: Panasonic PV-GS150 wont eject

Defective mechanism, a stucked mechanism is present. camcorder are smart it can detects error and shuts down itself for safety. earlier models dominoes the defect if the user is not quick enough to react when something goes wrong with the camera. You need professional service to fix it.

SOURCE: NEED HELP

G'day,

I also have the same problem and after almost buying a replacement I thought I would try one time to get it to go.

What I did was start the cam without a tape in it, let it bring up the little red icon indicating no tape inserted, (it hadn't started flashing "PLEASE RE-OPERATE AFTER PUSHING RESET BUTTON" at this stage) then I inserted my tape. Hey presto, it works although for how long I don't know. I'll immediately start burn my tapes to disc while the going is good.

Hope this helps someone

SOURCE: Panasonic Palmcorder PV-43D cannot get door open

Hi there.
Sometimes a gentle slap with the palm of your hand with the door facing towards the ground does the trick, make sure you power it off then on press eject while you gently slap it.

Good luck and thanks for using FixYa!!

Dear Dewi

This camcorder will connect to a laptop with the standard firewire cable so long as you have a movie editing progam. I find pinnacle to work well as you can controll the buttons on the camcorder.
