A105-S1014 LCD Screen issue

I have a A105-S1014 that I've had almost 3 years. About two months ago, I noticed that I was getting lines and a blurry screen. I would tap on the top of the screen and it would clear up. About two weeks ago, the screen would start to freeze. I would have to tap it harder, and then it would come back for a little while and then do it again. I wasn't sure what was going on with it, so I assumed the screen was going bad. I got one on Ebay and replaced it, only to find the new screen didn't fix it. If I put my fingers about 3 finger-tips on each side of center, and push in, and pull on the screen with the other fingers, it clears right up. When I talked to someone, they said it might be the LCD inverter, however the screen is bright no matter whether it works or not. Could I have a short in the ribbon LCD cable that goes to the LCD screen? Any other ideas?

The screen was new. I am fairly certain it is not the screen(s), because I've tried them both and found them both to do the exact same thing. But yes, if I tilt the cover/screen a bit it appears to reload easily. If it was a screen problem, why would the screen just fade from whatever it was doing and stick on it for a bit. When I would "squeeze" the screen like I mentioned above, it would come back to life. Kinda weird situation with this computer.

Strange that the new LCD did not fix your problem. The symptoms that you describe are those of a bad LCD screen. A loose cable may be

causing the problem, but not likely. A loose cable would show when you lift the cover and the video only appears when you have the cover open at a certain angle.

Check if the cable going into the back of the LCD screen is pushed all the way tinto the connector.

You are correct when you say that it is not the inverter. Inverters would make the video dim. It would not cause these symptoms. Was the LCD screen that you bought new ?

If it happens when you move the screen up or down, it is the LCD cable. It may have loosen from the system board.

If I could be of further assistance, let me know. If this helps or solves the issue, please rate it and give a testimonial for my response. Happy New Year!

Vertical lines on my lcd laptop screen

It's the connector problems.
If you know what to do, I can guide you:

First, remove the screw all over the LCD case, then you can see the connector, and flexible cables.
Second, remove the keyboard unit(by removing all screw on the unit), after removed, find the edge of the LCD cables, then you can see the connector.

The solution:
1.Try clean this two connector with soft brushes ( paint brush is good ), by removing the cable first, then clean the flexible connector using wet tissue ( use the alcohol ).

2. If still exist, you need to replace the flexible with new ones.

Vertical lines on the laptop screen

hi, the fault could be cause by a number of things, the Lcd harness cable maybe loose or faulty or even a mainboard issue, but it sounds like the matrix (circuitry)of the LCD is on it's way out.

try the computer with an external monitor, if it works correctly then it's the monitor that has broke and you need it replaced.
otherwise, if it does the same things on the external monitor...
I would check in order:
1)RAM memory
2)Motherboard
if the problem is only after windows boot, try changing the video driver, the problem might be caused by overheating video Chip, but that should freeze the system too...try also to remove the dust from all the heatsinks with canned air...
