My Dell Latitute D400 all of a sudden turn off by itself while I am working on. When I try to turn it on, there was no response from the machine, only power light blinking and then off again. I've checked the adaptor, it was ok, the light is ON on the adaptor. I also try to without battery, direct from the AC adaptor, still the same, no response and i can not hear any sound like HDD, or blower and things like that. I have no idea anymore.

sometimes this indicate a fault with memory or the system itsef. Before you begin you will have to remove the battery and the ac adapter.Remove the memory modules .Replace the battery and the ac adapter without the memory.Power it on if it comes on and beep several times then the memory is bad.If not remove the battery and the ac once again.Press and hold the power button for twenty seconds to clear the nonvol memory.Replace the memory the battery and the ac adapter. If still no go remove all the same items along with the hard drive and cd rom,Insert the battery and the ac adapter try again. If you hear a beep this time replace the battery(remember whenever you install to remove power). If nothing works and you none of the desired results you will have to replace the motherboard.
