I have a Dell Laptop 17RSE 7720 that I cannot Flash the Bios on. I have not tried to do it using Dos. I get Error 216 or 105.

nice a full model stated, rare here. NO OS< windows 10?
Windows, 10 ,removed the DOS mimic DLL files so now we must use freedos if DOS is needed, so I ask OS used above.
No reasons stated, the Intel processor venerability issue? what ?
or hacking BIOS , the possibles are ENDLESS. DYK
did you use F12 sandbox install
or did you make USB with freedos on it.

why not go to dell first and not fixya we are not dell.
do not flash BIOS until you learn the risks, did you?>
do not do that, unless you:
1: must, (have real compelling reasons to brick a good working perfect pc, (repeat 3 times for effect). oops....a daisy.

2; make 100 % sure the flash binary you get matches the exact service tag model PC you own , i bet you did not ask Dell to tell you that exact file that matches what you own.
I think but am not sure(dell has decompression locks on the file)
but I think they have more one ROM binary inside thee 10MB file.
but be nice if they said that, (their lil secret)

DID you used F12 mode? to update?
and from what version to what version.?????

3: Dell does not have what I call EZ_flash, that is using BIOS to flash itself. (super safe way, if power is good) Dell runs scripts at next boot to load bios binaries, in sand box , F12 way.
the EXE file there:
I always look first, I trust no one, on any binaries.
the exe passes virustotal and malwarebytes.
But the exe is locked, out. (decompression)
I think I know why (UEFI rules again)

5: is your PC set up with UEFI BIOS?
and safe boot? off
bitlocker suspended?

why not talk here at dell on same topic.
why leave DELL>?

One more problem. UEFI is H3LL
most makers OEM now block regression paths of bios.
so are you regessing ? trying to load, older BIOS version
you cant in most cases. did you? no before after stated. versions.
also learn that many PC, they upgraded UEFI like 10 times
and some you must do step by step, never v1 to v10 ok?
or it fails.

now some faCTS ON LAPTOPS.
Dell does not use Ez-flash, sadly is the best there is, not used.
this method has no possible way to multitask and fail.
the second most safe is running DOS(freedos is free) HP does.
The third most safe way is windows sand box. way. F12 per dell
and 4th flashing under windows live, is totally wrong.
never flash on any preemptive multitasking OS, live. do not.
may tired, many died (bricked forever)

this version>?
Version Version 1.11.1, 1.11.1 Category BIOS Release date 03 Jul 2018 Last Updated 03 Jul 2018
The normal Dell way under w10 , it creates install scripts in a file on your
hdd (not bitlocker'd) and then reboots w10 to sand box.
then w10 runs in special mode,(no it is not DOS) and this mode
safely installed the flash binaries.
if this fails or the HDD is missing (lol) or has linux loaded, you didnt say, then you can do this.
The below from Dell uses the word DOS in lazy way.
its not DOS, ok> DOS is MS product, or DRI, DR.DOS
Freedos is a modern version of DOS that runs on new hardware the real DOS (MS) can never do. ok?
I am told dell uses the w10 sand box method (w7/8/10)
I see dell ended this switch, -writeromfile
you can not extract the rom file.

this makes FREEDOS disk boot on the USB.
did you do this?
=-------------------------------------off dell ------------------------------

Good day, pls. help me, how can i install network ip address for konica 7035. thanks alot

Using arp command (Windows 95/98/NT/2000)
From Windows 95/98 MS-DOS prompt or at Windows NT/2000 command prompt, you can use the arp
command to assign the IP address to the network interface card. It is necessary that TCP/IP is set up
correctly on the computer that will execute the arp command. Perform the following procedure:
1. At Windows 95/98, select [MS-DOS prompt] from the [Start] menu. At Windows NT/2000, select
[Command prompt] from the [Start] menu.
2. Execute the arp command. For example, if the MAC address of the network interface card is
00:11:22:33:44:55 and the IP address to assign is, then input as shown below,
and then press [Enter].
(Example: C:\>arp -s 00-11-22-33-44-55
3. Execute the ping command for the assigned IP address. In this case no response is returned
from the network interface card.
(Example: C:\>ping
4. Turn off the main power supply to the print controller and the main body printer, then turn it
back on.
Chapter 2 Setting Up the Network Interface Card
2-4 Konica Network Interface Card INSTRUCTION MANUAL
A Status Page will be output. Check that the IP address is correctly set in the list. Or, when about 5
minutes have passed after having restarted the print controller and the main body printer using the
ping command, check that the network interface card responds correctly. The ping command is also
executed at Windows 95/98 MS-DOS prompt or Windows NT/2000 Command prompt. The example
of executing the ping command is shown below:
(Example: C:\>ping

Transfer foxfro dos-dased attendance application to other PC

well the good news because it dos based, it should be very self contained for example if the program is in a folder called foxapp, copy this folder and sub folders and all contents to the new machine,

if it don't work you missed something , just a case of having a look at other folder names most fox apps I wrote were contained within it own folder.

I too have a problem on my PC,when running the Turbo C programThe error message is:

16 bit MS Dos Sub system
turbo c++ IDE the NTVDM has encountered an illegal instruction.

At last i found the solution, and it is simple.
After installing your turboC follow the steps..
1) go to TC directory and open BIN.
2)In "BIN" folder you can find "tc.exe". Right click on "tc.exe" and click properties (and make sure that do not click on shortcut of TC.exe).
3)In properties there should be a tab called "screen", In that you will find "usage" option. There.. select "window" option instead of "full screen".
4) Then click "OK".
5) Now click "TC.exe".
6) It will open in window mode, if you want you can change full screen mode by pressing "ALT + Enter".
