Question about Pentax Optio M20 Digital Camera
My LCD screen is cracked, i do believe. the screen is mostly black and white with crack lines. I can only see a small part out of the bottom left side of the screen. Since I can't see, I haven't used it and I'm not sure if that is the only thing broken. Thanks for the concern !

In most cases the LCD is slightly different on most models of cameras. If there are only slight differences between models in the same line such as the megapixel rating or the internal memory the part may cross over. Models of the same camera from different production years also usually cross. I would say that VERY rarely does an LCD part cross over between model lines. Search online for a camera repair facility, you may be able to find one who would be willing to sell you the part. Be forewarned that replaceing the LCD is not always a straight forward process and there is always a chance of harming the camera in other ways while you try to fix it. Ok here it is open the camera and re insert the fine lcd ribbon into is holder problem solved. Your camera must have had a sharp knock to dislodge the lcd screen and pulling out the ribbon. Worked for me.

SOURCE: LCD screen flashing
This is a feature and not a defect of the K100D. You can turn this off by going to the menu and going into the second tab (playback menu). Once there, go to preview display, where you will have 3 options - off, histogram and brighten areas. Set this to off (your camera is set to brighten areas, that is why the white parts of your photos appear to be blinking).
Hope this helps!
