You have to have the right video graphics card for the tv connections (hdmi, s-video/vga/dvi) what video card do you have installed on your cop or do you have one on it at all, or you still using the intergrated graphics card= what came with cop when purchased, attached to the main mobo (some to think about are nvidia, ati.etc.) p.s. the tv has to have one of these in order to get the pix on screen

Tv hooked up to computer. connected audio cabe to vga audio in. still no sound. help.

I'll need a bit more information on your issue to help you first:
1.) You said: "trying to get sound on the tv to the computer". -- Did you perhaps mean that you're trying to get the audio which comes out of your computer to "play" on your TV?

2.) If I assume correctly, then you have the audio cable connected to the wrong place on the computer.. and possibly on the wrong place on the TV. If you are indeed trying to get the audio from your computer to play through the speakers on your TV, then you need to:

(this is also assuming you're using a "headphone jack-sized" plug on one end, with the other end being the old-style "RCA" left and right channels.. [Left = white; Red = right])

Firstly, the 'headphone jack"-style end of the audio cable needs to be plugged into the "audio out" or "headphones" jack. Sometimes the audio jacks on a computer are color-coded. If this is the case, the green jack is the one you want.

Next, the other end (which again I'm assuming are the left / right channels -- [white / red plugs]) needs to be plugged into the "audio in" on the TV which matches with the same input as your VGA cable is plugged into. Once the cable is hooked up in this way, you should be able to hear all audio coming from your computer on your TV's speakers.

Please let me know if I'm assuming incorrectly on what you're trying to accomplish with the audio. -- I hope I was helpful! Please let me know if you have any other questions!

How To Connect Flat Panel TV to Computer

Hello
First identify your TV's input connections. Most TVs these days have three basic types of inputs. You have your coaxial cable input, the same as your cable box or satellite, an RCA composite input (the yellow, red and white inputs) and an S-video connector. Newer televisions might have Component Video, DVI, VGA or HDMI inputs but the ones listed above are more common.
Identify your computer's outputs. These days computer manufacturers are adding TV compatible outputs on their products so it's easy to have a pc to tv connection when you hook it up. The S-video in particular seems to be popping up on more and more computers, so a PC to TV S video connector might be what you need. You can shop for S-video cables all over the place online. Mostly you will find the usual VGA output that the regular monitor hooks up to (see more later on VGA cables). The newer multimedia computers will probably have all high definition outputs that connect directly to your HDTV, but for now we will deal with what most people have for both computers and televisions.
Find the appropriate adapter for your connections. You may need to get a computer to TV cable so you can hook up your computer to the TV. If you have an HDTV, you may need a VGA to component cable. This VGA to component cable connects your computer to a HDTV and acts as a converter. (And that computer could be either a Mac or a PC.)
A PC to tv connector has a VGA adapter on one end and (usually) a selection of connectors on the other (S-video, RCA composite and Component). The good thing about these is that you can take it from TV to TV and you'll be able to hook up computer to TV for all of them. I highly recommend a wireless adapter. It costs a bit more but wireless is worth not having a big cable mess and not keeping your computer near your TV.
or you can get help from this video

You-Tube video "ZCN-nN1orYE" placeholder (do not delete)

Hope this helps, if so do rate the Tip.
How do I hook up my hp computer to my lg flat screen tv

You can use the TV's VGA port which needs a VGA cable which you can get from a computer hardware store. It's called RGB in on your TV. This is also called PC input. The max resolution you will get is 1,366x768 off your PC.

Can a computer be hooked up to this tv, if so how?

A computer can't be connected directly. You will need a video converter of some sort to go from VGA to Component Video. If your computer's video card has TV-out functionality, you just need a VGA to component video cable. Otherwise, you will need a set-top box converter, such as http://www.svideo.com/hiwire.html .

I wish I could be of more help.

I have a dell precision m60 and I want to hook it up to my hitachi 55 plasma tv Ive tried to do this via s-video without success

Trying to hook up your computer to the tv? Or the monitor to the tv? Anyways, you can't hook up the monitor to the tv to see the same thing on both. But for the computer to the tv, connect the s-video cable to the tv from the computer, and you have to press (on the computer) ctrl+alt+F2 or ctrl+alt+F1 it's different for some computers. But if that's what you tried to do, that's the way you do it.

Anyways, hope this helps.
