I called customer support and they offered the same solution of checking for jammed paper. I had this error message and no jammed paper. There is a white tab underneath the toner tray at the back of and on top of the paper tray that moves up and down to help situate the rollers that move the paper - this had got stuck in a down position with no paper jam. Once I lifted this tab, and it took some effort, the printer functioned properly. I am not sure why the tab got stuck and it may happen again, but for now the printer is working.
