Question about Dell P780 17" CRT Monitor

1 Answer

Left down corner of the screen is not focused

The problem appeared with unexpected shut down of the monitor and loose of focuse before that of the down left corner. When the computer is started the focuse seems to be ok for some time but later it is seen a red and yellow line(triangle upwords) and the green "START" is doubled. This can be impruved using the "convergence" of monitor menu but the other part of the monitor comes to be out of focuse. Is it possible to adjust the focuse separately or not.If it is hardware problem what can I do. Thank you.

Sorry to say but it sounds like your deflection is on it's way out.
The best option would be to get a cheap used LCD now while you have the chance since repair of your current CRT will cost as much if not more.

Hello, I need to know how to set MANUAL FOCUS. I can set Macro and MacroS. ie: the flower and flower with S. Thank you for any reply.

Hold down the OK button for more than one second. When the focus selection screen appears, press cursor-left to select MF. Use cursor-up/down to focus. Hold down OK for at least one second to save the setting.

This is from the "Manual focus" section in the manual (page 73 in my copy).

Screen is on, but does not appear to be on

The monitor was broken. I returned it to the vendor for replacement. Your tech did not seem to feel it was a monitor problem and only focused on the video card - although I asked him directly regarding his confidence of it being a videio card problem versus being a monitor problem.

I will not use your service again.

Focus,

When operating any digital camera, the camera tries to capture the best focus and exposure for that particular scene. By pressing the shutter button half-way down, the focus and exposure is being set. There will be a green circle on the upper left hand corner of the screen, then your camera is ready to take the picture. Slowly depress the shutter the rest of the way down to take the picture.

Manually focus the C-5500 Sport Zoom

Occasionally it is necessary to have the ability to manually focus a digital camera. A good example is shooting through the windows of a tour bus on a rainy day. The camera may choose to focus on the raindrops on the window rather than the actual subject. To enable the MANUAL FOCUS function hold down the OK/MENU button for a second or longer. In the lower left corner of the LCD screen you will see MF (MANUAL FOCUS) and AF (AUTOFOCUS) with AF highlighted in green. Use the left arrow key to select MF. You will now be able to use the up and down arrow keys to manually focus the camera. An added feature of the C-5500 is that when you are using the MANUAL FOCUS Mode you will see a magnified portion of the image in the center of the LCD screen. To get out of MANUAL FOCUS Mode, simply use the right arrow key to reset the camera to AF. Then press the OK/MENU button to return to the default functions.
