Question about Kenmore 24442

1 Answer

My Kenmore 80 series just stopped in the middle of the rinse cycle. If I give it a second and then try it again, it tries to go but makes a terrible sound and clicks off. I am trying to get it to at least drain the water out. It makes a sound like it is trying to engage and then stops.

motor coupler is most likely broken. remove cabinet, remove pump from motor, then remove motor from gearcase. the coupler can be purchased at local parts supplier or ordered on line.

Rinse cycle doesn't work

Your cold water valve is clogged. Most likely needs to be replaced or at least cleaned.

Washing machine Series 80 Kenmore wont drain water after it's RINSE cylce including the motor. It's like the TIMER stopped after the RINSE CYCLE. I think it's the timer.

does it drain after the wash cycle? if it does, then I don't think it's the timer. It uses the same contact there as for the rinse cycle. Do you hear the motor running as if it's trying to drain? If the motor is running, perhaps the pump itself is no good? Just a couple things to check. Hope it helps.

Kenmore 80 Series top loading washer--will not stop filling with water at the beginning of the wash cycle and for the rinse cyle. Is there an easy fix or should I purchase a new washer? How much can I

The pressure switch is failed - remove the tube from inside the top console area and blow it out. If you're lucky it will again work - with no charge.
