I keep getting a code 7 it says activation on this license had expired.the program is only registered to one computer i don't need it for 3.however i just bought this program in august on the 29th of 2008.so i don't understand how it is already expired it's only 3 1/2 months old so can u please tell me if i need to renew this and if so why.if not please tell me how to fix this problem.thank you!the program is called Defender-Pro2008 15-in-1

It sounds like a license malfunction. If it was a legitimate purchase(and it sounds like it was) you should contact the seller to receive support for the license issue. This would be the most painless way to solve it.
Most sellers offer free tech support for their products if they don't they may direct you to the maker who could also easily help. So you should be fine there.

This article may help you. It is for iPhone, but the same operating system runs on iPad as well.

Several months ago I downloaded iOS 7 beta with developer program. It worked fine. When iOS 7 had officially came out, I checked my phone and it restarted on its own. The locked screen said"Activation Error: This device is not registered as part of the iPhone Developer Program. If you are a member of the iPhone Developer Program, please register your device in the iPhone Developer Program Portal at http://developer.apple.com/iphone." I went to the link using my computer, although I am not a developer, and it didn't help me.
Recent days we see lots of iPhone users reported iOS 7 activation error. How did this happened? It is probably because users installed iOS 7 beta 6. As the iOS 7 beta has expired on October 6, which means anyone still running one won't be able to use their iPhone, iPod touch, or iPad, and won't even be able to get past Activation if they try.
If you're experiencing an iOS 7 activation error on your iPhone/other device and were previously using iOS7 beta, there's a good chance to fix it with following simple steps:
1) make sure you have upgraded to iTunes 11.1.1. It is the most recent version of iTunes.
2) Plug you iPhone/iDevice into your computer. Back up the data on the device.
3) Click "Restore" on your device's page in iTunes. If this doesn't work, proceed to DFU mode
4) your device is done restoring and activating you can restore your data from your iTunes backup
5) you can use your non-beta iOS 7
If iTunes says there is no newer version to upgrade to, you can put your iPhone or device to DFU mode after the backup. DFU (Device Firmware Update) mode will make sure you download and install the latest release version of iOS off of Apple's servers.
1) Plug your iPhone, iPod touch, or iPad into your Mac or Windows PC and make sure iTunes is running.
2) Hold down both the Sleep Button (on top of your device) and the Home Button (on the front underneath the screen).
3) Keep them both held down from about 10 seconds. (If you see the Apple logo, you've held them too long and will need to start again.)
4) Let go of the Sleep Button but keep holding the Home Button for about 5 seconds. (If you see the "Plus into iTunes" screen than you held it too long and will need to start again.)
5) Restore the device

Please follow the instructions below on how to register/activate your Vertus Fluid Mask software.

Vertus Tech provides two ways of registration/activation:

Fluid Mask 2.0: In order to register Fluid Mask 2.0 you need an active internet connection on the machine you want to use Fluid Mask on. This machine does not have to be online continuously after registration. Fluid Mask will try and re-connect periodically to validate your license though (every three months).

Fluid Mask 3.0: For Fluid Mask 3 they offer two ways of registration and activation of your full Fluid Mask license:

Online registration:
This option requires an active internet connection on the machine on which you are installing Fluid Mask.
1. If you already installed the trial version of Fluid Mask please open Fluid Mask and go to > Help > Register.
2. Fill out the registration form and insert your serial key. The serial key should have been sent to after you placed your order for Fluid Mask 3 and has the format

01AXYZB0B123F123CDA7121234567AF123

Please make sure you copy/paste the serial key into the serial key field to avoid typos or mixing up digits and letters like 0 and O etc.

3. Click on the button to send the information.
4. The registration takes a few seconds. If it was successful you will see a pop-up window confirming that you are now registered.
5. You can either copy and paste your information from there into a file or to create an e-mail.
6. In addition you can see the message "You have a full license" when going to > Help > About Fluid Mask.

Registration by e-mail:
1. If you already installed the trial version of Fluid Mask please open Fluid Mask and go to > Help > Register.

Hopefully you have registered your programs. You need to contact the manufacturers of your programs. In future always make a copy of the registration codes or serial numbers. You may have to have some proof of validity. If you have the original packaging they should still contain the serial numbers. Some programs will actually give you the registration code by opening the program and going to the help menu and then 'about'.

When live update fails, it is most likely due one of the following reasons:
· No license file (*.slf) is installed
· The installed license file (*.slf) has expired
· The trial period has expired
· The installed license file (*.slf) has been deleted, or become damaged or corrupted
· The software is not able to able to communicate with the Symantec servers

No license file (*.slf) is installed
It is necessary to have a valid license file installed into the program to authorize it for the download of the content updates using Live Update.
It is necessary to register your license(s) at the Licensing Portal (https://licensing.symantec.com/) to generate the license file if it was not included with your license certificate (*.pdf).

The license file (*.slf) has expired
It is required to have a current support contract to be authorized to have the most current content updates downloaded. If you have renewed your support contract, it is necessary to register your license(s) at the Licensing Portal (https://licensing.symantec.com/) to generate the new license file if it was not included with your license certificate (*.pdf).
This could also be the case if you have a current support contract, but had a trial license key installed in the software. It is necessary to register the support contract renewal to generate the new license file.
The trial period has expired

Many of Symantec's products offer a limited-time trial period where you can test the software in your environment. When the trial period expires, the software will typically cease to function as part of the Trialware installation agreement.

The installed license file (*.slf) has been deleted, is damaged or corrupted
If the license file that was installed in the program has been deleted or is corrupted, it is necessary to reinstall the license.
You can re-download the license file from the Licensing Portal account the license was registered in. If you registered the license into your Licensing Portal account, you can log into your account and re-download the license file. If the license was registered into the account of another person, you would need to contact that person to have them re-download a copy of the license file or provide you access to re-download the license file from their account.

The software is unable to communicate with the Symantec servers
The Symantec software must be able to establish a connection to the servers to be able to download the current content updates. If the software is unable to establish the server connection, then it will not be able to download the content updates.
You would need to check your network security settings to ensure the network traffic is not being blocked. If you believe your network's security settings might be blocking the Symantec software from communicating to the Live Update servers, contact Symantec Technical Support for assistance. One example of this occurring is when trying to install a license file into Symantec Mail Security 4.6 or later you get the following error message: "Symantec Premium AntiSpam registration failed. The product will not receive definition updates".
