What would cause my car to go into limp gear, from every six months to 2 or 3 times a week' to 3 months to 1 every other week

Failed Transaxle

Seeing as how you have been using it
for months, you have no chance of diagnosing

Once you drive & keep going into fail safe-- your done

Pull it & rebuild it

Never fixed it's self

That is pure nonsense & you know it

Imhave stripped threads on my sand filter housing where the pressure gage fits

That hole that you thread in your pressure gauge is 1/4" size. The pressure gauge is a 1/4" x 20 threads NC.

So, the fix I would attempt is to drill out the hole to the next size up and re-tap new threads - I would go to the next commonly used size: 3/8".

to do this: Obtain the proper drill bit size for a new 3/8" hole. That drill bit size will be a 37/64". Once you drill out the stripped hole to the next size opening, get your 3/8" Tap, and slowly & carefully start turning in a clockwise direction. Make one complete rotation, check to see if bites into the new hole, if not, then push into the hole a little bit harder, and try again. Once it bites, turn 1 more full turn and then backup a 1/2 turn. Continue a full turn, back up a 1/2 half turn. What this does, will break away the plastic fragments and will clean out the hole so it will not ruin the new cut threads.

Once the tap is in about half way, thread the tap all the way out, and then turn the tap back in by hand. It should screw in easily, yet firm.

Now you will need a reducing bushing. Threads on the outside of 3/8" and inside threads of 1/4". This is a reducer bushing commonly labeled 3/8" x 1/4" NPT also sometimes known as a Hex bushing 3/8"x1/4" NPT

Use only 4 wraps of teflon tape wrapping in a "Counter" clockwise rotation, on both the busing and the new pressure gauge.

Good Luck

Engine management sensors

wanted to Open Question
Hyundai accent 2008 starting issue. I wanted to post this to help others Mentally & financially as this is one of those things I could have spent hundreds on. Instead my dealer said you can throw parts at it & hope, or wait to an error code revealed itself. In the previous month I had replaced all belts, plugs & battery as I'm at 130000k & just paid it off. Ironically a week after my last car payment .this starting issue began, Get in ,drive to a store ...get back in to go home no start. Timing belt was just replaced...not timing1 Plugs just replaced...not plugs. Plenty of crank ,,new battery. Starter turns 2 or 3 cylinders fire & quits. What the F---!Take to the dealer...mechanic says it can be 1 of 4 things but of course starts there for him every time. Serviceicon1.png desk guy says to wait for error code to show up. Well 2 frustrated months later same problem & no code. However he also had asked if Id seen an error code of a key inside a car stay lit on my dash, if so it meant a fault in the key reader, After being stuck twice in one day last Friday I decided to pull my plugs and check for loose or whatever. Long story short after putting all back together,,,same problem!!! Yet it finally came to me ...YES there really is an answer. As I turned the key I started focusing on the dash and what lights came on .1st turn Acc,,,2nd turn about 5 things light up including a pic of a key inside a car,,3rd turn of the key cranks the starter & turns over the engine. Well ,,,it finally occurred to me on turn 2 that one of the lighted pics was guessed it,,,little key in car. So I kept turning from key from 1 to 2 for lights on dash until it finally lit up an when it did I turned the key to start & it did. Shut it off & tried again but noticed pic missing and car didn't start, I had been waiting all these months for this **** pic to show up as an error code on my dash but the problem was ...sometimes it worked, sometimes it didn't so because it hadn't faulted yet no permanent error code could be read. However now I know I need a new key reader because so long as that pic appears on the dash in 2nd key turn ,my car has no issue, when pics not there it isn't starting. Hope this helps others diagnose this simple yet frustrating problem, life's simpler when you know what to look for.

Hp laptop synaptics touchpad light comes on and shuts off pointer

Had this problem before, very annoying! On mine the idea was double tap to disable the track pad and then double tap again to activate it... In reality tapping rapidly in the area around the LED until the LED shut off seemed to work.

In short; double tap the LED to reactivate the track pad. If that doesn't work tap several times in quick succession until the LED turns off.

Good luck!

you have got sticky floats or float velves that are sticking shut/open,,, turn on the fuel and tap the top of the carbs one at a time this may jolt the floats back and shut the needle velves if this dont work the only way to fix it is to strip the cards and clean the cards up if you park the bike up for any time again drain all the float boles first by undoing the small screw under the carb float boles or run the carbs dry by turning off the fule tap and keep the motor running till it stops by its self
