Question about Neovo F-417 17" LCD Monitor

1 Answer

F-417 working inconsistently after power fluctuation/outage.

Since a power fluctuation, followed by a complete failure, my F-417 has been behaving weirdly:
It works normally for some time, then the screen goes blank and the power LED blinks unevenly. While it's doing this, the power button seems to neither turn it on, nor off. A random time of this, and the picture returns, and the monitor continues to function for a bit more, and then back and forth between these two states. Changing the power cable didn't help.

Could anyone offer any ideas as to what this is, and if it can be fixed?

You may want to check the VIDEO cable that goes from the monitor to the computer. Make sure its in tight. If the montor still continues doing this, it could be caused either by A) a faulty monitor, or the monitor is going bad B) the video card inside the computer is going bad. If you have another monitor in the house, try it and see if you have the same problems. If you do it's most likely the video card inside the comptuer going bad. If you don't, then replace the monitor. Was the monitor plugged into a surge protector? Let me know how it turns out... THANKS

Seeing that the monitor is doing the same thing on a different computer, looks like your monitor might be shot. If the surge protector is old, it may have lost it's protection ability and would be time to replace it. If I were you I'd purchase a new power strip with the abilty to protect electronics from power surges, they usually have a guarentee to replace the equiptment plugged into them up to $25,000. Then I would get a new monitor. Good Luck...

Which version of the monitor do you have? Built-in power supply or external AC adapter?
http://www.agneovo.com/us/content/f-417.asp
or AC adapter: http://www.usadapter.com/LCD-AC-Adapters/AG-Neovo-F-417-LCD-Adapter-12V-4A.html

If it uses externa; AC adapter, then you need to attach a car bulb such as 1157 using high filament to the adapter output and see if it still putting out 12vdc with load.

If it uses built-in power then you need to check the power supply section first.

My Proview Technology 15' tft is fluctuating from last week...actually it is minor fluctuation..i tried to solve this problem by removing speakers form it's side but it doesnt effect this...

Magnet does not affect the LCD panel like the CRT monitor because LCD dose not use electron beams for display function.
Most common failures in the LCD monitors are bad capacitors (bulging top/seal or leaking) in the power supply, blown fuses, failed inverter circuits (blown fuse, shorted transistors, shorted/open transformers), bad lamps (poor solder connections or worn out lamps). You will need to open it up and inspect the inside, see example of failed monitors to get some ideas what to look for: http://s807.photobucket.com/home/budm/allalbums
Post back what you see inside so we can guide you further and it will help out other people in the future also.

My lcd monitor is not working after power failure (syncmaster 170t) .

The monitor was probably fried during the power outage due to a spike just before the power went out.
On the power brick check to see if there is an LED light and see if that is lit when its plugged in. If its not lit up then you may want to try a new power brick, if it is lit up then your monitor is a dead.

My Neovo f-417 LCD Monitor is switching off after 3-4 seconds. Green lamp is still blinking but there is no ligts and picture on screen. Only black screen

This means there is a hardware failure in the monitor that could be either blown CAPs or a shorted out inverter. It is difficult and dangerous to replace both of those(involving soldering and desoldering) if you don't know how as LCD's are made of a hazardous material. I would try new cables and on a different computer as a last resort and if that doesnt work then your monitor is trashed. If it works on another computer then the issue is not with your monitor. Good luck!

No power but ON button flashing

Quickest fix for this is probably to temporarily unplug the monitor power cord.

For your other outages, I assume the monitor is connected to a computer, make sure the operating system power-save features have not disabled the video output signal from the computer ... if so, monitor should re-activate when you use the mouse or hit a key on the keyboard.

If your computer has two video outputs, make sure the primary display hasn't been shifted to the other one ... try it by moving the LCD data cable to the other video connector on the computer.

I had a similar problem with a Dell monitor after a power outage. I pulled the monitor apart and found a connector not completely seated. I think that something internal has happened to your monitor. It could be an internal fuse or something. If you don'r feel comfortable taking it apart, find a reputable service center.

Envision Monitor doesn't turn on.

monitor has sustained damage from the power fluctuation's from the outage I would report it to your power company they are obligated to replace any damaged equipment that may be damaged because of their failure to provide non outage service and then go take the monitor to a repair center they can determine if the boards internally were hit with a power spike and damaged, meanwhile while you send the report to the power company you can either buy a new one and then submit the price for refund from the power company

Neovo F-417 failure

When troubleshooting another problem with this monitor i had it open and noticed that all thought this monitor has a "fixed video cord" once the unit is opened up it actually plugs in just like any normal video cable for a monitor. If the monitor video cable is the problem(bent pins, twisted to much, left kinked) then replacing it is an option. Simply open the monitor carefully(so as not to break any clips) and remove the EMI Shield. Once you do this you will be able to see where the video cable plugs into the monitor and replace it.
