You have a common problem with no simple solution.
the causes could be the following:
*faulty video card
*faulty data cable going to your monitor form the the computer
*faulty memory
*faulty motherboard-video controler
*faulty monitor

this is what I would do
1. Test the monitor on a known good computer (to see if the monitor is good or not)
2. test the computer with a known good monitor (to see if computer is the problem)
3. if 2 is telling you the computer is the problem. try replacing the video card or use a video card if you were using the video that came with your motherboard
4. if 3 did not give you good results, try replacing memory modules for known good memory modules (check your motherboard documentation to know what memory to get)
5. try replacing your motherboard.

Hi there, i assume you switch on the monitor but there's no display. Is the monitor working before this? If what i assume is right, you should check the connection between the monitor and the cpu. If that doesn't solve the problem, then you should check the vga card. Maybe the pci slot/vga port is damage. If that the problem, you should change another display card.

Dell backlight indicators

A computer monitor has a front-mounted LED that displays its current status and flashes in the event of an error. When an error occurs, the flashing may be accompanied by an error message on the screen. If the screen does not display an error message, the problem most likely falls into one of four common categories.

Unsupported Display Mode A video card has the ability to send output to the monitor at many display resolutions and refresh rates. However, no single monitor is capable of supporting every possible display mode. When the video card sends an unsupported display mode to the monitor, the monitor shuts off to prevent damage and blinks, or displays an error message. Standby Mode b> When a monitor detects no video signal from the computer, it assumes that you have turned the computer off and enters standby mode to reduce power consumption. Dell and HP monitors display an amber light when in standby mode. The status light on an Apple monitor blinks slowly. Incorrect Power Supply Some monitors such as certain Apple Cinema and Studio displays use external power adapters. Because different power adapters may have similar connectors, these monitors are designed to detect when an incorrect power supply is connected and blink the status LED rather than attempting to turn on. In the case of an Apple display, the LED blinks in an alternating short and long pattern. b> Backlight Failure b> A flat panel LCD display has an LED or fluorescent backlight that illuminates the pixels and makes it possible to see the contents of the screen. If the backlight fails and requires replacement, the monitor is unable to display any information. In some cases, you may be able to resolve this issue by turning the monitor and computer off, disconnecting and reseating all cables. If the monitor still has a backlight issue, it requires professional service.

Green power light comes on but disk drive lights keep blinking and my screen is black on my dell dimension 4700

Remove ALL media from the machine DVD, CD, USB, etc. Check/reseat all Monitor cables. Reboot. If that fails, unplug , plug back in in 30 seconds or so. reboot, if you get a Dell Logo, Open the boot Menu and select Boot from HDD first.

Menu keep on blinking

Disconnect the monitor from the computer. Then turn on the monitor, if the menu keeps on blinking then that means the screen is starting to go bad and the monitor needs to be replaced.
You can also hook up the monitor to another computer. If the blinking stops then that means its an issue with the video card in your original computer.

first check your monitor front power light blinking or not.
if it's blinking then then remove the signal cable to the cpu then check the company logo moving in the monitor.if it's moving means your monitor is OK.means no display in *********** board.

OSD Menu on my montior is lock on a Balance CM2017 LCD monitor i cant change any of my menu opitions....HELP

The answer depends on your monitor model, of course.
For some of the LCD models you may reset the monitor by pressing (and releasing) the "MENU" button (OSD menu appears) then hold the "SOURCE" button for a few seconds. When you see the monitor blinks it means that reset was done.

I have a 19' view sonic monitor, when i plug it in, the monitor won't turn on, the light on the power button just blinks on and off in random blinks, can anyone help?

If the power button is blinking after disconnecting it from your computer, and with only the power cord plugged in. Your monitor has gone bad and need to repaired or replaced .Depending upon the manufacturer warranty you have
