You can take the cover off of the icemaker and with a pair of needle nose plires take off the dile and clean with an eraser. You probly can see the problem when you get the dile off. Let me know if that is works. Has worked for me in the past.

Why won't the ice maker shut off even when I shut off the switch? The ice maker does not use a shut off arm or lever

Ice Maker Doesn't Turn Off If your ice maker keeps making ice, even when it is full:
1Lift the bail wireto shut off the ice maker, and remove the ice bin. Then, using a screwdriver if necessary, remove the ice maker, clean it thoroughly, and then reinstall it.
2If the problem persists, consider removing and replace the entire ice maker and valve. With this type of problem, you can have it repaired, but it's often wiser and less expensive in the long run to replace the unit entirely.

Does dump valve shut off after making ice

is your bin line and dump line tied together if so it could be just ice melting. If not can you here water filling up constantly while machine is off? if so is it running over sump tray into ice bin. if dump valve was stuck open then machine will not make ice.

Where are the bin full sensors located for cme256ws-1c full light on will not make ice

The bin full sensors are located behind the water sump tray. Pull the front cover off remove the white plastic guard. Remove the ice deflector grate that is in the water sump tray. Now look where the ice falls down into the bin to the right and left side there is where the bin sensors are you have to pull them sideways you can also open the control panel and look where the bin sensor wire runs and follow it. pull the bin sensors and clean the eyes or replace them.

My ice maker has ice in it but it won't dump

Make sure your on off lever is in the down position. This is a long wire that will raise up as the ice bin gets full until it shuts off the ice maker when it is raised up. It is made of wire and is located on the right side of the ice maker.

Frigerater making abuzzing noise

The ice from the ice maker falls behind the ice bin if it gets too full and goes onto the fan. This is what is making the noise. Keep a watch on the ice so it doesn't get too full and overflow. You can shut the ice maker off when you see it getting too full by placing the lever int eh upward position.

ICE MAKER MOTOR RUNS CONSTANTLY AND WONT' TURN OFF ICE IS FULL

It's not too difficult to remove the ice maker. A few screws and the unit will unplug from the fridge. Then you can see why the bar is not turning it off. If it's really broken, check pcappliance.com for parts or a replacement unit. Meanwhile the fridge can keep on working, and you can use trays to make ice.

Icemaker not producing ice

Most automatic ice makers have a lever (looks like a piece of wire) that is prevented from being in the down position when the bin is full. This stops the ice maker from producing ice when not needed. The lever can also be lifted manually to a locked up position which turns the ice maker off as well. If the lever is in the up position, simply press down on it, it should release and return to the down position. Once down, the ice maker will begin producing ice again (the unit will have to complete its cycle before you see any ice, normally a couple hours or less). Hope this helps.

Please take the time to give this solution a fix ya rating.

Ice maker won't stop making ice

OK, there's two possible issues but you have to figure out what is happening. Does the ice maker continue to make ice forever and would fill up the whole freezer section in time OR does the ice maker just "over make" ice that overfills the bin which then falls out? If the ice maker just keeps making ice you need the motor module replaced but if it can be turned off by moving the lever up then you need the "modified lever assy." that is on our service bulletins.

Ice Maker -cube selection

Banjo, pull the ice bin out. You will see a rod on the back of it. See if it flips up and down by hand. This rod does the switching from crushed to cube in the bin. In back of the freezer where the rod inserts there will be a cradle that pulls up by a solenoid. With the bin out and the door switch held shut have someone press the ice lever and see if the soleniod is pulling the cradle up. If not the next logical move would be to see if the solenoid is getting 120V when the lever is depressed. If it is and is not moving, there's your problem. Check the bin first and see if it is not all clumped up with ice. Catriver...post back
