Question about Samsung ML-2510 Laser Printer
When I try to print with my Samsung ML-2510 and I specify page numbers (right now I'm trying to print 1 to 58 from an InDesign document), I get a message that says, "1 or more of the pages specified are not valid page names", and yet I have tried many combinations, like 1-58, +1-58, 1 - 58, Sec1:1-58 etc. etc. etc., and NOTHING...I downloaded the manual from Samsung and it does not contain anything regarding this problem. Thanks for any help.
When printing specific pages the valid range is in this format 1,3,5,7,9,11 etc or if printing even numbers 2,4,6,8 etc or if printing specific pages 1,5,17,21,23,24,32 etc
what makes it a valid range is the comma between the numbers, no spacing and no full stop at the end
to further add confusion
when printing all of the pages just click all pages and it will print one sided all of the pages so no numbering is required
however if you want to save paper and reduce the size of the document
click pages 1,3,5,7,9,11,13 through to ,57
print those pages then turn them all around and upside down reinsert in the printer
now select pages 2,4,6,8 through to ,58 and print
that will give you printed data on each side of the paper in the correct page number order
to get to know how to reinsert the paper test with a print page 1 then reinsert and print page 2 to make sure that you have turned the paper the right way round

SOURCE: CLP-510 SPL-C Error message
SPL stands for "Samsung Printer Language". You are using an USB cable that is either too long (above 6 ft.) or too thin (cheap cables).
The reason why the test page prints is because it is a very simple and small page (thinking on kbyte terms). But larger streams of data do not arrive correctly due to attenuation and the error page prints instead.
If it is absolutely necessary to connect beyong 6 ft, you need either a good quality USB cable (try the Belkin brand found at OfficeMax), or connect using a parallel cable.

I noticed that the orange cancel button was jammed down. I couldn't prise it up, but was able to release it by tapping firmly the top of the printer near the button. As soon as it popped up - the buttons stopped flashing

Bridiek's suggestion above was right on. I tried prying orange button up but it was too far down to get instrument in so I tapped with my fist next to the orange button, it popped up. I turned printer off and on using the power switch on the side and everything returned to normal state. Thanks, Bridiek!
