I have my 1805 apart and I'm looking at the CPU but I don't see a battery anywhere. Where is it? Could you tell me please?

If you have the laptop apart, look for the Volume control board. . Then to the side of it you will see the cmos battery (actually called a RTC battery) taped down, with a cable plugged into the system board. Cable is plugged into PJ752 connector on the system board.
If I could be of further assistance, let me know. If this helps or solves the issue, please rate it.
Thanks, Joe

My Toshiba Satellite 1805-S204 turns off when i'm trying to open DVD-ROM bay. Sometimes i can open it but than notebook turns off when i'm closing DVD-ROM bay. I want to disassemble 1805-S204 to find out...

I suspect, if you haven't got it working on the AC adaptor when this happens, that maybe the battery is low power. If it does it when the AC adaptor is being used then I think you are right, the DVD ROM is faulty.
Remove the battery and AC adaptor.
Remove the Memory cover.
There is a singel screw that holds the DVD drive bay in. Remove the screw and pull the drive out.
Replace the drive with and IDENTICAL model and that should be that.
Hope this helps.

SCREEN IS DARK

Dark screen may significate that the inverter board powering backlight lamp is faulty.

Check first the power settings, brightness settings, and ensure that battery is charging.

If settings and batteries are OK, then remains the faulty inverter board .

Where is the CMOS battery?

On Toshiba, one of three places. Under a panel on the bottom, under the battery, or under the keyboard, look for a battery resembling a large watch battery, some are in pouches with two wires leading to a connector. Here, try one of these links, you may be able to find a breakdown diagram for your machine.

Hi!
If you already found the cmos battery, then try to check its "rating" and size to accomodate inside the board. After that fix it as it should be.
