I dropped the remote for my 1997 Tahoe and it no longer works. I have opened the remote and checked the battery. Is there a way to reset the remote? Thanks, Jon

LOST MY REMOTE...WANT TO ORDER ANOTHER. IF I ORDER IT ONLINE, DO I HAVE TO TAKE IT TO THE INSTALLER TO REPROGRAM OR WHAT DO I DO?

This will depend on the model, however most don't require going to an installer. The new remote must be synced with the starter. Replacements I have ordered in the past have come with instructions, otherwise consult the manufacturer's website. The last one I did only required setting the car starter/alarm to program mode using a hidden "valet" switch, then just a quick sync instruction set.

I replaced the starter. Disconected the battery

Place your key inthe ignition, and turn it to the on position. Leave it forward for 1 hour, and then try again. This is how you reset the FACTORY alarm.
