Certainly all machines need oiling except for bearings that have their own impregnated oil. Any two parts that are metal (not plastic or nylon) and move togeather need oil. Gears need grease, vaseline works ok. The needlebar and takeup lever and everything under the cover on the upper left. Also below the hook on bottom. This will require removing covers. Its more than likely it needs a good cleaning also or there could be thread caught up in a tight spot where two parts move togeather.
Just a drop or two though as too much will just collect more lint or dirt etc and cause more issues.

I have a creative 9000 sewing machine does this need oiling

If it is a computerized model, most likely it requires very little or no oiling. Your owner's manual should have that information. Be sure to follow the instructions as oiling in the wrong spots could damage it.

If it is mechanical model, then it probably requires more oiling.

Where do I oil this sewing machine?

you did not provide the name and model number of the sewing machine or serger, so the only thing I can suggest is look in the instruction manual if you have one, the information should be in there.. if you don't have a manual, provide a name and model number and some one will try to help you find a manual

S given an elgin sewing machine ,treadle type model no. g227315 and was wondreing if it`s value would be worth trying to fix it?

Hard to say. Some people like treadle machines because they don't require electricity to run them. Elgin watches used to be pretty good.

The somewhat good news is that they are relatively simple machines so probably wouldn't take much expense to get it working. Probably needs plenty of cleaning and oiling (with fresh, good quality sewing machine oil) and possible a replacement belt or two. May require some research to find replacement parts and accessories (bobbins, presser feet...). Could be that Singer or some other company is compatible.

It probably isn't worth a lot of money so don't expect it to make your rich.

Do you need to oil the White Sewing machine model 9800?

get this question a bit frequently from folks,

it usually goes like this:

customer looking at repair bill:
what it needed oil ? but the manual says it doesn't require lubrication !

but I do caution folks on what kind of oil you put in there , most of the newer units have lots of plastic or polymer friction points , these you should not add a petroleum base oil too, as this softens the plastic up (there made of same thing ) instead use a synthetic lubricant these are easier on the plastics found inside modern machines

Does my Janome Sewist 521 model require oiling?

One drop of oil under the bobbin case in the center of the hook, on the wick. Your machine doesn't need oiled like a vintage machine. Taking it in for service once a year is plenty.

Oil my machine

This really depends on the model of machine you have. Most new machines are self oiling, but some still require a drop of oil in the bobbin case. Your sewing machine manual should include a oiling diagram if your machine requires that the user oil their machine. You should be able to download a manual for your machine from the Janome website, even the retired models are there.

My Baby Lock Serger model BLE1AT oiling

Baby Lock.com says you have to take it in to a dealer, as oiling requires removal of covers that would void the warranty.

Is this a Janome MemoryCraft 9000? (I ask because the models seem to get mixed up in the threads)

If so, you can more than likely find accessories for the MC9000 either on eBay, your local Janome dealer (you can find the closest one to you @ Janome's website using the "Dealer Locator" feature) or even ... SEARS!

Sears contracted Janome to make several of their sewing machines (I think Janome might still be the actual manufacturer, but aren't 100% sure) and so the parts are compatible. You can even use a Kenmore Memory Card with a Janome MC9000.

As for oiling, if it's the MC9000 (much like practically all newer models) they don't need oiling. Though sometimes, you can dab a teeny-tiny amount of oil on the bobbin case if it needs it.
