Question about Samsung HL-P5063W 50" Rear Projection HDTV
Had set three yrs. Lamp went out . TV would come on with sound but no picture the shut down after lamp light blinked and reset 3 times. Then lamp and timer light comes on. Replaced bulb, same problem, replaced color wheel due to whining noise and replaced ballast. Reset bulb with Mute 1-8-2 ON and still same problem except this time no sound comes on.
What could be wrong. I checked and rechecked each step over and over again without success. problem is the same as when it went out at before replacing parts.
The CLS problem. Im thinking that at least you made a visual inspection of the power suply and the capacitors around it. Then if everything normal in the area then the microdisplay (inside the ligth engine) can be damaged. (when the tv is working normally the microdisplay sends a pulse to turn on ballast and lamp finally.
The sweetkyman: when the fan is bad th tv shuts down imm. (if you unplug the fan when the tv is working normal the computer detects the overcurrent system works and shuts down the set) when a fan is all dirty and tons of dust on it the tv tends to work but after some hours the tv shuts down.
