You need to check the resistance on the throttle pot and see if the resistance is equal and smojoth from side to side.

Throttle pot or loose hex nut that holds the actual forward and reverse paddle, may be slipping

The Speed Controller could need replacing , is there movement in the total control , normally leavers,

if there is a lot of up and down movement, I will need a photo of it so it can be replace with the correct pot

Old Pride Rally won't charge or run

The batteries may be too old to take a charge. They are gell cell types and can be had at any battery shop. You can get them on line too, but shipping will be high.

Can the foward and reverse be switched from left hand to right hand

hi, you have to expose the throttle pot that attached to the throttle lever , looking at the pot you see three wire connects, swap over the outside ones but leave the middle one alone. Regards GeWiz.

I HAVE A CELEBRITY DX SCOOTER, IT IS 4 YEARS OLD. I HAVE HAD NEW BATTERIES FITTED, BUT THIS LAST 3 MONTHS THE SCOOTER RUNS FROM NORMAL SPEED TO SLOW AND SLUGGISH THEN BACK TO NORMAL EVERY FEW MINUTES.CAN...

Hi John.
The problem could be a worn throttle pot ( wig wag ). Next time you are driving the scooter, try moving the ends of the speed lever slowly up and down, instead of in or out as you normally use it. If the throttle pot is worn, moving the lever this way will make the machine speed up or slow down.
Another cause might be a faulty battery lead connector or a faulty motor connector.
Good luck. Neil.

it is either a bad throttle pot, or the set screw that holds the thumb forward/reverse paddle is loose causing the speed to slip, allen wrench to tighten if setscrew is problem

Sounds like you have a bad throttle pot. You`ll need to check the resistance on it or take it to a dealer.
