Hello, Thank You for using FixYa. I will be helping you today.Your pilot light is set way too high! You need to correct this and you should clean the pilot area also before turning the unit back on.
Thank You and please rate my answer if it was helpful..
Hello there: Magic chef ovens and various other models of ovens have this no cancel feature this is due to the intense heatthat is generated during the cleaning process Normally if you press and hold the cancel button for 10 seconds this may cancel it out but the oven door will remain locked untill he temperature gets back to around 100 degrees see the cleaning temperature are almost around 600 degrees ok also you can unplug the oven and leave it set for at least 1 hour to allow the internal reset feature to reset the oven ok this has been known to take care of this problem too ok Hope his is very helpful for you Best regards mike
Start time should be set to current time of day (according to the clock on the stove) and the stop time should be set for at least two hours later. This will allow the timed oven feature to work for the self clean option. ***Keep in mind that if the clock does not work you will have to shut the oven off yourself after the two hours is up!!*** Good Luck!
Most likely a bad temperature sensor if the bake element is coming on and not reaching temperature. The temperature sensor is in the back wall of the oven up high on the right or left side depending upon your model number. It is about 3 inches long and about the size of a thin pencil. It removes from the inside of the oven.
Hi, If the oven has a standing pilot too, Open the bottom door and locate the main burner. Follow the burner toward the rear of the oven and there will be a flame switch attatched to the burner. Hold the flame near the flame switch and the gas should ignite.
Some model do not have a standing pilot in the oven. Please get me your model number off the label located around the opening of the lower door so I can look this up and instruct you better.
look at the burners in the oven, they usually go bad where they hook to the unit,it will look like a peice is missing.if this is not the case, a wire is loose in your breaker and you're running on 110 instead of 220
You need to replace the oven igniter. It's what you see glowing. They grow weak with age. TURN POWER OFF before servicing this. The numbers can often be found behind drawer at lower front, on oven frame, on left or right near bottom. Bring model # with you. It should be a standard magic chef igniter. Think it's 12400035. Remove oven floor to access igniter. It's held on by 2 screws in side of burner. Put some dishwashing detergent on them before trying to remove them. Otherwise they might strip out. The new igniter may plug right in or you may have to cut wires and attach with enclosed wire nuts. The 2 wires to it can be attached either way.
