If you cleaned the screen in the valve of the washer and it still does not work then you need to replace the valve. the valve on the cold side probably has a piece of sediment in it not allowing it to open.

No cold water coming into machine

Follow the cold water line inside the washer where it connects to a 'Fill Valve' which is a valve/solenoid. Using an electrical test meter check the two wires at the solenoid for 110 volts when the machine is calling for cold water. If there is voltage but no cold water the valve is most likely bad. You may also want to pull the hose to make sure you have water running through the hose from the spigot. With the hose off at the valve look to see if there is a screen at the valve that might be clogged.

I have a Kenmore 500 series washing machine. The cold water just trickles out but the hot is fine. I have replaced the fill valve, but the problems persists. Any help would be appreciated.

Hello,

Having replaced the valve i would suspect the cold water for what ever reason is not getting to the valve from the faucet..if you have not already done so remove cold water hose and see how much water is coming from it when its not connected to the washer. If your using the "aqua flow-flood stop" hoses thats going to be the problem..the internal stopper in the hose has failed and hardly no water coming through the hose.

Cold water not coming in. Hot wash is fine with hot water only. Cold or warm wash pulls no cold water. Water pressure is fine, no pipe kinks. Could inlet valve be stuck? Any other possibilities?

Hi just read your posting. Now have you removed the cold water hose from the machine end and checked to see if there is water coming from the hose?Do any fault codes appear on your machine when the cold water is not coming in?Have you or can you borrow an electrical test meter to test the coils of the valves to see if they are faulty? Please reply with additional information on these questions and I am sure I can help you rectify this fault.

Hot water will not enter machine. Screen filter is clean. Cold is OK.

There's no hot water Some washing machines allow hot water to enter only during certain cycles. Others intermittently allow hot and cold to enter, to temper the temperature of the water. Consult your owner's manual if you are unsure about whether the machine is acting abnormally. If you're sure the machine isn't working the way it used to--or should--try these tests: Is the hot water turned on? If not, turn it on. Is the washer getting cold water but no hot water? If so, check to see if the control panel settings are correct. Is there hot water coming through the proper hose? If not, check to see if the screen inside the water-inlet valve is clean. (The water-inlet valve is the device on the washing machine that the fill hoses are attached to.) If it's clean, you probably have a defective water-inlet valve. If so, completely replace it.

Hot water in washer comes out fine. Cold water is very slow coming out. It dribbles and takes forever to fill.

Clean inlet screen where hose attaches to machine. Water from water heater is generally "cleaner" as sediments have had a chance to settle out in the water heater. Cold water carries more stuff directly to the valve screen. Check also for kinked hose.
