Try Unistalling and install this download:

Done that..it still doesnt work =\
First you might go to Device Manager, right click your hardware device in the list and select Update Driver Software; then click Search automatically for updated driver software. Note: Drivers on the Windows Update site are directly provided by hardware manufacturers. Microsoft tests drivers in various environments before they are published; however, we cannot guarantee all drivers will work on all hardware platforms as there are too many different models, although their hardware ID are the same as the standard version. In some cases, due to hardware modifications by different manufacturers, the driver updates may cause some error. If it does not work on your issue, I'd suggest you installing the Vista driver in Compatibility mode. Remove and rescan that hardware device in Device Manager, right-click on the driver executable/installer file -> Properties and select the Compatibility tab; click the checkbox before Run this program in Compatibility mode for option and select Windows Vista in the list-down box; then try installing the device driver via Run as administrator. In addition, you can use the Windows XP driver for testing.
ve tried the device manager what youve said. My camera i had installed with a vista driver which my laptop is installed as win7. My camera works my ploblem is just that, whenever i press the capture button it doesnt work. I would like to assign the capture button to open up the Camera program. There is a way to do but that is using the keyboard keys. Mine button is extern (basically like the powerbutton/volume button/mute button) it is not connected on the keyboard just somewhere on the laptop.
I think, you need 2 files 1. sony shared library 2. sony utilities Install the shared library first or it wont work, and then install the utilities and you should be good to go
I tried most of the common helps & issues...had it checked at several IT stores and they couldnt make it work. Finally after 2 years i managed to install it from Sony website which they hadnt had the right file. The camera works. I would like to make a hotkey with the external button, if you know a program that would be also a help for me too digg further into this one.
