Question about Westell Wirespeed VersaLink (A99-327W11-00) Router (A99327W1100)
When it says network cable unplugged, check your ip address, it may be 169.xxx.xx.x, if this is the case, your pc is not connected to the modem, the 169 address is autoconfigured by windows to let you know that there is a problem with the connection. you can try reversing the connection, plug into the pc the end that is plugged into the modem and vice versa. if you still get the same result, change your ethernet cables. regarding the slow speed of your connection, there may be a couple of reasons why this is happening. it could be because you have a file sharing program like limewire, your browser is already filled up with regarding to cookies, temp internet files, you might want to delete that and optimize your browser. also go to task manager, check your cpu usage. it should only be within 2%-25%. if it's more than that, your pc might have a virus or spyware. to find out if you have slow speed problems you can also try to ping your pc. you can do this by going to your command prompt or dos prompt (click on start, click on run, type cmd and click ok). on the first line type "ping (any website or ip address)" you will send 4 packets, you should receive 4 packets. if it's not 4 out of 4. you have a speed issue. call tech support of your isp provider or manufacturer of your pc.

My computer does the same thing. I have talked to Verizon and they said it was an issue with my NIC. I bought a new one and the same things happens. Also, I bought a Dell mini and it won't connect to my wireless because it gets the same error message. However, it does connect to every thing else. Both systems have XP Home Edition on them. I have done everything that everyone has suggested. Anyone else?
