Same problem, (when I started the project) I found that one of the air diversion doors in the heater core airbox was stripped out, the link had broken clean off. That messed up the whole system for the other doors to work. I took the entire dash apart tonite, and will hopefully find another door in a junkyard this week. The old one came out without haveing to comepletly remove the heater core. The new one should go in with just as much swearing. But as I put the instrument cluster back on so I could drive to work, the tach, heat guage, and blower fan all crapped out. I can't find a fuse that covers all three. Anybody have a clue what I might have messed up? Any feedback would be great. bkoczur@hotmail.com

I had a diffrent problem. the water valve on the firewall was not opening when switched over to hot... the cable was not pushing or pulling. i took the control switch out (the knob that you turn for hot or cold) and took it apart. one of the sodier points off of that controle switch was cracked.. i just heated it back up and added a little sodier to it and whalllaaaaa works great but still trying to figure out why the blower motor doesnt work..... uhg

I have a 1997 toyota tacoma that the heater works sometimes but not other times?

heater, totally dead.

1: blower working and blowing cold air ,

2: engine holds 180F or more all the time, HOLDS !! i use an IR pyro gun to do that as dash gauges suck.

3: heat lever bad, slipping or stuck (look)

4: some cars have no water valve, so use damper , it can stick closed.

if engine coolant was hot at heater failure we can work this easy.

yes< then is both heater hoses hot touch , fan on, engine hot.

see them as they enter fire wall, on both sides.?

you can in fact feel them on all cars.

ever do a real RAD cooling system flush , if not, BINGO, full of crap inside.

2006 tacoma heat/air blower fuse location

Hello! Coil of Heater Relay is supplied through Fuse "IG1 2" (10A)...Located in the Drivers Side Box...Contacts of Relay are supplied through "Heater Fuse (50A)...Located in Engine Relay Box...Blower Motor has a 2 wire connector with wire colors: Black/Yellow (Pin 2)...And White/Blue (Pin 1)...Pin 1=Ground and Pin 2=Battery when Relay pulls and contacts close...
The Blower Resistor Pack (Which fails often) controls the fan speed...BUT, there is a fuse inside the assembly...If it blows = No Fan...Located on the top of the heater/AC box and can be accessed through the Glove Compartment...Guru...Saailer

I have a 2006 Toyota Tacoma the heat is always on but the blower will shut of what should I check to fix this problem i don't want to clamp the heat either I want air conditioning

check the heater inlet valve. it is located in the heater inlet hose usually near the firewall in the engine compartment. It is vacuum operated but could be stuck in the open position.

Low and medium heater blower inoperative on 2006 toyota tacoma.

Resistor blown in heater. Follow the wires from the heater motor ( in foot well ) to a plug in the ducting between the fan and main heater body in centre of car. Unplug and remove the plate , it should be held in by a couple of screws. The plate should have a couple of wire coils of which , a couple will be broken. Replace resistor and heater should work.
Happy heating Marshall

My 99 tacoma the fan blows but not hot air. the thermostat is good and full of antifreeze.

You need engine heat, circular, and a blower to get heat. You've already done the first steps of making sure you have enough fluid, etc.
Circulation - water pump - not likely because when they fail they usually bind up or leak really badly.
Heater core - would be my next guess. If this is blocked you won't get any hot water to blow air through. The heater core goes through the firewall. If you can get to the hose connections, disconnect them and see if you can flush any water through the core. Most likely you will have to replace it.

Air flow weak when set to heat

check for dirty cab air inlet or "HVAC" filter, or heater core is plugged from debris and air is being restricted and wont blow through. it works like a radiator, air ducts can also be getting stuck.
