Question about D-Link RangeBooster G WBR-2310 Wireless Router (WBR2310)

D Link WBR-2310

God i hate routers...

Right, so i bought this router (which if i could find the reciept, it'd be sent back!!) and its atrocious! Im not great at networking stuff, so im hoping you guys can help me.

The lights are always flashing...that cant be good! The triangle with a circle around it is constantly flashing, but at a slow annoyingly alarming rate....! I have no idea what this light represents (ive d/l'd the manuals, google image search, nothin) as well as the network and wireless lights (which i assume is normal) now, the internet cuts out every.....wait for it....30 seconds!!!!!!! sometimes itll stay up for 20-40 mins n then itll disconnect and disappear. When i go to reconnect, my router is not in the list to connect to!! Even when the router "appears" fine!!!!! argh!

Now, ive tried to secure with a WPA password etc and now it wont have it!! Everytime i try to secure the connection or just change the SSID...the whole effin thing freeze and i ahve to do a hard reset....so annoyed!!!!!! anway...

if anyone know how i can stop my pesky router from dropping the connection so often...i would appreciate it...! Even once an hour or two would be a much appreciated improvement!!!!!

thanks guys (in advance!)

I had this same problem happen to me. The stupid triangle light is flashing and the router does not seem to be working. This all happened after the power went out at our place... which i think may have surged the router when it came back on. That is the only connection I can make.

Sounds like a bad router or firmware issue. If you recently bought the router you can try and do an exchange where you bought it or you can contact D Link for a warranty replacement. Sorry I could not be more help on this but it really sounds like the router is dead or dying and not routing packets correctly.

I recently bought a D-Link WBR=2310 Rangebooster wireless router. The installation disk is only for Windows. I'm using a Macbook. Is there software for Apple? If not how do I set it up?

You can set up the router without the CD also.
If you connect the computer to the modem it works, right ?
Now you can connect the computer to the router and the modem to the rotuer . Access the router set up and set up the router.

Wbr-2310 error 112

Check your physical connection first. From the modem, it should be connected to the router's Internet port, then your computer must be connected to port 1 on the back of the router. Then do a power cycle, no need to run the setup CD. If it doesn't work, you need to manually configure the router. You may need assistance from D-Link tech support. Call their toll free number
