Phillips GoGear Problem

I have a 6gb Phillips mp3 player, and it used to work great. Now every time I turn it on, it begins to tick like a clock and the screen says "please connect player to pc". It won't say anything else but that...so I thought maybe it was just dead. I charged it and it still says the exact same thing. I connect it to my pc and my pc won't recognize it. So it can't be detected by my cpu, but it can't play because it says it needs to be connected to my computer. I've also tried more than one cpu, so it's definitely the mp3 player. Any suggestions? I'd appreciate any ideas you guys might have. always worked and today the battery is filling when i connect that thing but the pc doenst reconize it. Help?:P

Run the Philips Device Manager and select Update. If the device manager won't recognize the player, unplug the GoGear, hold in either the shuffle button or volume + and reconnect the GoGear to the computer until a Found New Hardware Wizard window pops up.

I want software of philips gogear 6gb mp3 player

Hello,

If your player is the HDD1620/05 6GB from the UK, next internet page is the matching support site:
http://www.p4c.philips.com/cgi-bin/dcbint/cpindex.pl?ctn=HDD1620/05&slg=en&scy=GB

When you have another player, change the box [country / language] and [Search] box in the page top.

How to add songs to Philips SA2310 GoGear Mp3 Player 1GB MP3 Player from pc. does it needs any software??? where can i get that software?????

U DO NOT REQUIRE ANY SOFTWARE TO ADD SONGS TO UR PHILLIPS MP3 PLAYER. JUST USE UR USB CABLE TO CONNECT WITH THE PC. THEN U SEE ONE DRIVE NAMED REMOVABLE DRIVE COMES IN MY COMPUTER. JUST DOUBLE CLICK ON IT AND ADD MP3 SONGS AND THE SONGS ARE ADDED TO MP3 PLAYER. ENJOY THE SONGS IN PHILIPS MP3 PLAYER. GREAT SOUND.....

Phillips Gogear SA5285/37 is frozen

Triple Reset for Philips’ GoGear:

Disconnect the Go Gear from computer. Press the reset pinhole until the player turns off. Hold in the volume + button, and reconnect the player to the computer while holding the volume + button in. Keep holding the volume + button for an additional 5-50 seconds. Windows should eventually go into recovery mode and revive the player- it will pop up a window that says Found New Hardware Wizard. If this pop-up does not appear, reset the player again WHILE connected to the computer. Open the Philips Device Manager, and go to Repair Tab. Reset the player one more time while connected to computer. Follow the repair instructions.

After repair is complete, upgrade the firmware for this player. Will erase all the songs, but you should be good to go again.

Shows "this device cannot start" when i plug in the device

My advice to you would be to go get a new media player that isn't a phillips product. The headache that the hdd 1630 caused me almost made me go insane. I spent countless hours on the phone with tech support. They even sent me a new 1630 that I had for 2 months when the same problems happened again.
This thing is nothing but a expensive paper weight.

Philips go gear 6gb not connected.

Make sure you back up all songs on the GoGear before attempting this solution.

1) Back up all files on the GoGear
2) Open up Philips Device Manager (Start --> All Programs --> Philips)
3) Click on the Repair Tab, and look for a msg that says connect the player while holding the volume + button
4) Disconnect the GoGear from the computer and turn the GoGear off - hold in the volume + button and continue to hold it as you reconnect the GoGear to the computer; after holding the volume + button for up to 20 or 30 seconds, a window will open up saying that your device is being repaired (now you can let go of the volume + button); after the repair is successfully complete, your GoGear will be good as new

Now you can do the firmware upgrade that will prevent this problem from occuring in the future. Open up Philips Device Manager and click the Update tab. This problem was caused because most GoGear's were designed for Windows XP with Media Player 10 (which is no longer the latest standard).
