Re: flash drive ports on teh fron wont work on pc
If your system is USB 1 rather than USB 2 then some flash drives will not work. Not all usb 2 flashdrives are backwards compatible. My kids flasdrives will only work on my usb2 ports & will not work at all on my wife's computer which has the older usb 1 ports.

To test the functionality of the usb ports in front of the computer
1. Insert another flash drive or another usb device like a usb mouse on front the computer
2. If it detect the usb device that means 2 things flash drive might be bad and the front usb port is working
3. If it does not, It means that the flash drive might be bad or the usb port is not connected to the front panel of the computer
4. Try also inserting the flash drive at the back of the computer see if the usb drive is detected in all ports
5. Check the BIOS for any usb port associativity
Flash drives are just like any drive....nothing specific....you cant del system files...even if you format the pen drive the system files are there....
you pc is behaving funny as the USB port is having trouble / pen drive is not connected properly....as no specific drivers are installed fore the USB ports...it's all Windows drivers that sue the USB ports....
1 remove the pen drive
2 switch off and switch on the PC
3 reconnect the pen drive
It is possible that your USB flash drive is dead. The other solution is to try it on some other USB port of your PC (if you used front panel USB ports now try it on the back panel). If it also wont work, try to connect it to some other PC If it works with an other PC, your USB ports are dead You can try going to device manager, and to unintall USBs and reinstalling them
Some external USB drives require external power sources. Typically this is done either with an external power supply that connects to the drive or a second USB cable that connects to the drive and a second usb port on the pc. I have even seen one drive that comes with a Y cable. one end goes to the drive and the 2 usb plugs go to the pc.
Check to see if the back ports behave the same way with the flash drive, If so then it appears to be a software issue. If not...look closely at the pins inside the ports and make sure none are bent. If attempting to straighten pins be sure to power system off first. Also check inside the case to see that the front USB connectors are secure. Also
is it several times that youve used your flash driver at your office?
and which side of the usb port did you plug it? coz when it is your
first time to use your flash drive at your office and your plugging it
at the front side of the PC. well there might be something wrong with
connection and may cause damage to the board of the flash drive. if it
your using it several times, well try to check at your PC, then do the
my computer (right click and select manage)
and under manage window ( select disk management )
try to see if your flash drive registered (you can see the drives of
your PC) and see if theres a volume (either raw/ or theres a partition
if not, well the board of your flash drive might be damaged, mostly
these were caused by the power of the system, fluctuation is one of
them, then improper plugging of the flashdrive.
