Picture burned into screen

I left my dvd running and came home. this has happened before but I guess today is my lucky day. When I played the dvd I noticed a shadow image of the menu in the background. its faint but it is there. Does anyone know the solution or the estimated cost of a 50" screen? Sears does not cover the burn in problem. thanks

My LG TV has suddenly become darker all across the bottom of the screen (10cm strip) it still has colour but is darker. In left hand corner it is considerably darker and depending on what you are watching...

Hi; your TV has burn screen or comes from one image left on the screen for too long, it can get burned into the screen, making it visible at all times. You can actually eliminate most screen burns with the use of a PC computer and a black and white screen saver. This trick eliminates screen burn after a period of several minutes because the black and white screens flash quickly, removing all traces of color from the screen. This will eventually eliminate any burned images on the LCD screen. you can do it by creating a DVD picture slide with only black and white image. you can use a computer to make DVD picture slide first go to paint brush and draw only white then save as white.jpg. second burn it into nero or other dvd burner third play it to your DVD player connected to you LCD has to be played in full screen let the white image display on your HDTV for several hours or even overnight. It should remove any burned-in images or ghosts. hope this help...............

There are marks on my LCD 42" TV ,its on the screen itself. It looks like water marks. It started of small marks and it then it getting bigger.

Things You'll Need:
  • Burn-In Reduction Screen Saver DVD
  • DVD Player
  1. Instructions
    • 1 Plug DVD player into your TV and power on. Make sure you plug the right component cables into their corresponding inputs on the back of the TV. This is usually done by simply matching the colors of ends of the cables with the colors of the input holes on the back of the TV.
    • 2 Turn TV to the proper input to display the DVD. Make sure there is not a DVD in the player.
    • 3 Place burn-in reduction screen saver DVD in the player. Allow a few seconds for the DVD to start playing. A pattern of white "video snow" will appear on your screen. The entire screen should be taken up with this patterm.
    • 4 Run the DVD for at least several hours; this will help wear the TVs phosphors evenly. Depending on how long the image has been burned into the screen, the amount of time you should play the DVD varies a lot. A good rule to follow would be to play the DVD at least four times the period the image has been displayed. If you have an image that has been on the screen two hours a day for a whole month, run the screen saver for at least 240 hours

I have a Vizio model P50HDTV20A. The problem is this. One day it would not turn on. I got the clicks then a green light. No picture no sound. So i let it sit with the green light on for awhile. Turned it...

Look for numerous bad capacitors on power supply or replace board. Also look for burn spot on square buffer ic's to left of cabinet with back off. Replace bd's as necessary.

I have an iisue with my panasonic viera TH-46pz85u. Two days ago the tv went off and the power light started blinking (5 times). I unplugged it and plugged it back into a different outlet on my surge...

I have the EXACT same model...and now have the EXACT same problem. Mine was manufactured in March of 08. It has low hours on it it was in storage for about 5 months this past summer. I did find a youtube video of a man in Briton with this problem. He is an engineer and determined that it is a failed comb driver, which of course, is built into the actual screen, requiring the entire screen to be replaced in order to fix it.

I guess I'm lucky because my failure is on the far right of the if you are going to have 2" of black, that would be a place to have it I guess. Most programming is tolerable this way...but man, I did my research before buying this unit and bought it based on the reviews of its picture quality. It really is the best plasma picture I have seen to date. But now I have to question Panasonic's reliability. Sent a nasty gram to Panasonic Support...we'll see what happens.

Sony tv will play copies of movies from tv, but won't play store bought new ones. I mean current popular ones. It played Avatar last week but won't now. We tried several new movies and none will play. Put...

There is some confusion in the explanation here.

The TV does not play movies it displays them It is the DVD that Plays them. But of course you knew that. Some of the newer movies like avatarcan be on Blu ray if your DVD is supposed to play Blu ray but doesn't don't be surprised as they have changed the format recently. Your DVD will require an udate of firmnware. Go to the website of the DVD brand and contact support Download the update and burn it to a disc and run it.

With the TV end Make sure the resolution can be accepted from the DVD you are trying to Play. If it isn't HD or capable of 1024x768 at 16.4 then it may not be able to display the image. Is there any sound?

If sound but no Pic then start playing with the picture format. go to 8.2 or 4,0 to see if it makes any difference

Burned image on comp 1 chanel

When an image is burnt in to screen it is always there you just dont see it when you watch tv because of the changing video. On some sets you can burn the image out by using a all white screen, from a signal generator or from the service menu, turning the brightness all the way up and letting it play for 24 hours. Here are some websites that have software that is supposed to erase burn-in images, but you would have to hook tv to a computer, unless it can be copied to a dvd and played through a DVD player. Have not used it myself so not sure how or if it works. Be careful not to cause any more damage to screen. A new screen can cost a few hundred to over a thousand dollars to replace. Set should be taken to a panasonic repair shop to try burning it out with white screen approach, so if they damage it they have to fix it.

Dark burn in? at top and bottom of screen. TV is only 16m old.

PixelProtector is a tool for fixing stuck pixels, removing screen burn, correctly calibrating screens for optimal performance and gaining the best possible picture. Any large screen television is an investment. Poor set-up and calibration can degrade the quality of a television's image and severely threaten the life of the screen.
If you own a large plasma or LCD television with a DVD player and want to achieve optimum performance, PixelProtector is highly recommended.

3 ways to remove burn-in
1. PixelProtector for Removing Screen Burn.
2. downloading a free program called JScreenFix
Screen Burn Removal Using Your PC.
If you can hook your PC up to your screen burnt TV try this. Create a folder in 'My Documents' called 'Screen Burn'. I'm not joking keep reading. Now open up a picture editor like 'paint' available on all Windows PC's. When you run 'Paint' a blank white document is what you should have in front of you. That is exactly what you need. Select File – Save as and name your picture 'white'. Be sure to save it in the folder you just created.

Next you need to click on the 'black' section of the colour pallet at the bottom of the 'Paint' window. After you have selected black click on the 'Fill' icon (a tipped paint pot) on the left. Now simply click in the middle of your white picture and it should become totally black. Select File – Save as and name you picture 'black'. Again be sure to save it in the folder called 'Screen Burn'. You don't need paint any more so you can shut it down.

Now right click on the Windows desktop an select Properties – Screen Saver and using the drop down list select 'My Pictures Slide Show'. Now to configure the slide show. Click Settings and configure as follows. Slide the bar to 'More' so that pictures change frequently. Slide the next bar to 'Larger' so pictures fill the whole screen. Now click the 'browse' button and find the folder you made called 'Screen Burn'. In the next set of options:- Check 'Stretch Small Pictures', Un-check 'Show File Names', Check 'Use Screen Transitions' and finally un-check 'Allow Scrolling Through Pictures With The Keyboard'. Save the options.

Different versions of Windows might have slightly different configuration options but as long as the result is a completely filled (no borders), alternating white and black screen with no writing then it will probably help.

Now set your screen saver to 1 minute and leave the keyboard and mouse well alone.

As with the 'snow' and 'signal pattern' leave this for a while to see some results. If you use your TV for the PC then it might be a good idea to use this as your regular screen saver and run it frequently.

The only snag is the headache of connecting the PC up and the fact that removal technique will not be running at your screens native resolution.
