When i turn my Xbox360 premium on, I try to connect to XBL, and it comes up with a error, saying that my Xbox cannot obtain an IP adress from my router/modem. It suggests I restart my Router/modem and try again, which I have done, and the problem still exists. I cannot connect to XBL atall. Anyone have an answer? thanks in advance
Okay check the cable of the xbox make sure its not broken or KINKED could have a broken wire somewhere make sure the wire work try the wire on a computer to see if it gets an IP.
Check the connector too, make sure none of the wire are lossen up, if so then replace the connectors or buy a new wire. make sure its Cat 5 or Cat 5E. doesnt have to be cat 6. thats overkill.
if its wireless then check if your router has WEP or WAP enabled, then you have to get the Key to get into the router, and make sure the SSID of the router is correct.

Okay, ive done the xclamp perfectly, then i got red rings again, ive gotten it back up and running but right now it will load to the dashboard but it will shut off with 2 red rings (overheat obviously) but the fans get faster and faster until this happens. I read something about it maybe being the motherboard bending (seems plausible) i have one washer under the mobo on each screw on the Heatsink above the GPu (under cd drive) and three above. I think this may be the problem, i will check it out then reply on this. Thanks for any help or ideas!!!!
