Question about SanDisk Sansa Clip MP3 Player

1 Answer

I try to listen to one particular song, but Sansaclip 2gb freezes

I can listen to other songs just fine, I've rebooted my Clip multiple times but that doesn't work, I tried formatting it but that didn't work. Whenever I try to listen to Complicated by Weird Al the whole mp3 just freezes: I can't change to a different song, the song won't play. It shows that I've chosen that song to listen to, but the song doesn't even start and the words showing what the song is don't move. Plz help!

    I have a Sansa clip 2mg. It plays through several songs just fine but gets to two songs and they play extremely slow - like when we used to play the records at the wrong speed. LOL For that, I got a kick out of it. But then it gets to the third song and freezes. Can't press any buttons to get out of it. It's not like this unit has gotten a lot of use - I actually lost it for a while and in that respect, it's fairly new. I've tried reloading the songs and that doesn't work either. I deleted everything showing in the song list from my pc folders and the music is still in the sansa. So when I'm going through, trying to delete everything, it freezes up on that song again. What's the deal? :?{

Epsilon - delete that one song and see if the other songs play fine

These are the most common methods for recovering Sandisk's Sansa Mp3 Players. I have been almost universally successful in recovering Sansa players using one or a combination of these methods. These methods do not work if you are having synchronization or music format issues - they are for recovering a player that will not power up, freezes, flashes, is not recognized by the computer, and a host of other issues.

Reset the Sansa Player first. On most models, restart is done by holding the power button in for 15 seconds or longer. Check your specific manual to be sure. The manuals are available from the Sansa website if they have been misplaced.
Download the Sansa Recovery Tool from the Sansa website.
Format - Erases Everything: Connect your Sansa player to the computer and open Windows Media Player. Click on the Sync tab. Pull down the drop down menu underneath the Sync tab by moving your cursor over the Sync tab and left clicking on the little black arrow underneath the Sync tab. Highlight "Sansa 1GB" (wording may vary slightly), and then select "Format." - this should erase everything.
Firmware Upgrade- Erases Everything: Get the latest firmware upgrade from Sansa - it updates the firmware and erases every song in the player all at once. Note: this method doesn't work if already have the latest firmware. Go to this website and click "Firmware Updater" to find out: http://www.sandisk.com/DriverDownload/driverList.asp
If these fail, then:
Try this: disconnect the player from the computer, turn it off, hold in the volume + button, and reconnect the player to the computer while holding the volume + button in. Keep holding the volume + button for an additional 5-50 seconds. Windows should eventually go into recovery mode and revive the player- it will pop up a window that says Found New Hardware Wizard.
If you get the problem where MTP Device keeps popping up continuously, uninstall the “MTP Device” by going to Start à Control Panel àSystem à Hardware à Device Manager (you computer may vary slightly, depending on Windows Version).
You may have to restart your computer after each of these methods to get them to work properly. Disconnect your Sansa player BEFORE shutting down your computer.

My Sansa Clip 2GB MP3 player won't let me add any more songs to it, even though there's 1.26 GB still available. I don't want to reformat the player, cuz that'll delete the songs I already have on there. ...

Hi there..

When you say having difficulty in adding the songs in CLIP, though you have enough space. I'd kindly request you to check for the number of songs that you have added.

Because when you add as MP3 player by default its bit rate is 128kbps so you can add up to 500 songs only. Kindly have a check on it.

I have given the number of songs that can be added with related to size of MP3 player..

Size of the player :512MB 1GB 2GB 4GB 8GB 16GB 32GB
Number of songs : 125 250 500 1000 2000 4000 8000

Kindly revert if any clarifications....

My Creative Zen has Frozen on a particular song.........

while it is off slide down the power thing while holding play and resseting it with a safety pin, paperclip, staple, etc., this should bring you to the zen format screen thing, select "clean up" this should fix the problem and still save all of your files, if this doesn't work try the other options from the zen format screen.

Sansa Clip 2gb only plays parts of songs

The songs you have loaded have a restrictive license on them that only allows full playback on a computer, not on an mp3 player. If you only download songs in mp3 format, you will never have this problem.
