I was able to find this by insomniac on CDROM Guide:
You don't need drivers for optical devices (CD and DVD drives) as Windows has native support for them.

It sounds like a corrupt Registry entry, which is common with XP.

The following should fix it.

Start Registry Editor (Start, Run and type in regedit then click O.K)

Locate the UpperFilters value under the following key in the registry:

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Contro l\Class\{4D36E965-E325-11CE-BFC1-08002BE10318}

On the Edit menu, click Delete, and then click OK.

Locate the LowerFilters value under the same key in the registry:

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Contro l\Class\{4D36E965-E325-11CE-BFC1-08002BE10318}

On the Edit menu, click Delete, and then click OK.

Quit Registry Editor.

NOTE: After you remove the Upperfilters value and the Lowerfilters value, if you notice lost functionality in a particular program, such as CD recording software, you may need to reinstall that software.

I have a laptop Toshiba Satellite A75-S206 Intel Pentium 4 2.8GHz / 802.11b-g Wireless / 15.4-inch WXGA / 512MB DDR / 60GB HDD / DVD-ROM/CD-RW Combo / and I want to change the hard disk.I want a list with...

That takes an IDE HDD. They are universal so any notebook IDE HDD will replace that 1. I like Weatern Digital because they really are good about standing behind their hard drives. Now it only came with a 4200 RPM so when u upgrade purchase the 5400 RPM. If the bios firmware only supports the 60GB then u will need to format a larger drive with a second partition using admin tools as a mass storage device.

My Toshia A-75 mouse pad is not working. Pointer is stuck and cannot access my computer.

Try downloading drivers from here.

http://www.csd.toshiba.com/cgi-bin/tais/support/jsp/modelContent.jsp?ct=DL&os=&category=&moid=713723&rpn=PSA70U&modelFilter=A75-S206&selCategory=3&selFamily=1073768663&selModel=713723%7CPSA70U#

After updating the drivers, if it still doesn't work, you may need to get it repaired if it's a hardware issue. You can use the keyboard to navigate Windows (Tab, Alt, cursor keys, etc.)

Toshiba Satellite A75-S206 DVD\CD-RW drive problem

Hello GeneMat,

I am Romeet,i will try and help you with this problem.Seems it could be an issue with the Combo DVD Drive's Driver Software or Firmware.

Try This:

From your Desktop:

Right Click " My Computer" Icon and select "Properties"

Go to "Hardware" Tab and select "Device Manager"

Under Device Manager, scroll down to the "DVD/CDROM Drives" menu and click on the plus ( + ) Sign next to it

Right Click the Drive name eg " Toshiba DVD-R TSST 2313" and select " Uninstall" Click yes to any prompts and restart your Laptop.

After rebooting, Windows XP should pick up the drivers again, so wait a while for it to complete and until it notifies you that " Windows successfully completed installing your new hardware" or something to that effect and then try using the software cds again

Best of luck!

Regds
