Question about Emerson EWF2004 20" TV

Open Question

MUTE control freezes

Have 4-5 year old Emerson TV (25") hooked to DISH satillite. Periodically after hitting the MUTE the remote will not release the MUTE. Am able to change up/down of channels. Only way to turn off is to unplug TV. Sometimes plugging back in will return it to normal operations and at others have to do 3-4 times or wait until next day.

Appearing on the screen, over whatever is on channel are "2" near each of the four corners and 058-0.06 271 C5 in the middle of the screen. The C5 will be white letters within a black square. Directly beneath the above noted series of numbers is OF 3641.

I have spoken with DISH who reloaded their software in receiver though they initially and after said the problem was within the Emerson TV with the numbers shown on screen likely some type of error/message code specific to Emerson. My search for link/info for Emerson did not turn up anything related to codes or problems I am incurring.

You should have a button on your remote which says "display". Pushing that should toggle the ch number off. Hope this helps.

SOURCE: Can't find the input/video channel for my Emerson TV

universal remotes are tricky, if you have the pamphlet, often times there are several codes for each brand. you have to try all the emerson codes for your universal even tho the power, volume and channel functions may work with several emerson codes, some of these specialized buttons (like input) may only work on your TV with one specific code.

also, if there are any unlabeled buttons on the universal try them with each new emerson code.

SOURCE: lost remote control for an emerson tv. how do you

I just purchased one of these televisions and it didn't come with a remote. However, a Philips Universal Remote (SRU2103/27)
with a code 0520 works fine. I haven't explored all the codes but I can easily change from tv stations to Video 1 and Video 2 merely by pressing the "Input" button on the remote.

Hello
Your Philips CL 034 model remote control should work with almost all models of Emerson TV. Codes to check with are

0002 0502 0006 0115

0506 0706 0520 0906 0316

0505 0614 0324 0924 0626

0826 0027 0327 0128 0228

0632 0134 0247 0605 0705 0805

0703 0903 0004 0519 0106 0104
0304 0604 0804 0005 0105 0305

Be patient and check with these codes one by one, till you find the code for your Emerson model.

I previously was hooked to a dish in my old location. I moved and now have cable but lost the remote and can't set up the TV. What to do?

there is a menu button, the channel buttons move you thru the menu...first setup making sure the setting is on cable...if channel 2/3/4 don't autotune in cable lineup, be sure to go back and manually add otherwise you won't be able to watch using dvd or vcr, or play video games
