Radio on my sony rx d7 hi fi 3 cd changer

the tape deck works fine ,the cd players fine,i have no instruction manual,when i press tuner band on the system there is only a crackling noise come through the speakers,i dont know what to do to play the radio it comes up fm or am,do i have to set the clock,even with the remote i can not get it to play it searches through the channels

check to maks sure you have an fm antenna connected
