Goes to start up then shuts down

It could be overheating. I had this with a laptop and it was caused by the processor overheating where it needed new heatsink paste, this caused it to start up and then shut down almost immediately. It could also be that it is dusty inside the casing I use an air blower once a month to clean mine out. As a last thought, have you listened to the bleep that a PC makes when it is booting up, mine bleeps once, but all PCs are different. Look in your manual or visit the Acer website this should tell you what yours does and if it is making more bleeps than it should then you should be able to find out if there is another problem such as your hard drive failing. New hardware recently added can also cause this sort of problem as well if it is not compatable or you could have a corrupt driver. Hope this helps.

I have a completely blank screen and a tower revving with 3 bleeps about every 3 seconds. Can you help? De Hayward

This indicates that no RAM/Memory is being detected by the computer.

The RAM modules need to be removed and cleaned of dust. The gold fingers may be cleaned with tissue paper.
Insert them one at a time, in alternating slots. They may need to be cleaned more than once. A pencil eraser will also give a good clean contact surface.

Happy Computing!!!

I have a sony vaio once I turn the computer on the start up window wont come out... It's just a blank screen what should I do...?

Hello Sir, Hi, common problems associated with blank screen are as follows, I need you to check this out. 1. poor contact connection on the memory. under you laptop, you will find the access panel to the memory module, usually with screw, remove the panel cover, and remove the memory module, clean the terminals using any dry clean cloth/rug, or an eraser. 2. bad battery means no power, charge your laptop and after 10 minute. turn on. 3. still no success, remove the hard drive by opening access panel to hard drive. power on. 4. if you reach this part, problem now is on the system board. find a reputable repair center for Sony.

Blank screen, computor running but no picture on screen only gray colour.

Do you get a POST bleep when you switch on?
If so it could be a cable fault or a graphics card fault, either the driver has corrupted or the card itself has gone faulty.

My pc

When powering up, press and hold F2 key and see if you can get to the bios. If not, unit has bad display or power supply. Does the screen display anything during your tests?
