Wine coolers aren't designed to anywhere near as cold as a regular refrigerator. How warm/cold is it running? Red and white wines have different temperature settings too

How do I know whether a thermoelectric cooling system is better for me than a compressor?

This depends on several factors: how much wine you keep on hand, where you will be putting the cooler (cool/warm room in the house) and if you are buying a freestanding cooler/built-in. If you never have more than two cases, plan on keeping the cooler somewhere it won't get too warm and you want a freestanding cooler, you should look into purchasing a thermoelectric cooling system.

I have a GE ZDB24A under counter wine cooler that continues to frost up regardless of the setting. I have a second cooler downstairs which stays clean - no frost. What do I need to do?

check the door seal, make sure that its not ripped or dirty. Its possible that moisture is entering the wine cooler thru the door gasket. Frost is normally the result of warm moisture mixing with cold air. The door gasket should be the problem. if you thoroughly examine and its fine, let me know and we'll go to the next step.

Stopped cooling compressor warm to touch

Feel the condenser on the side to if its warm top to bottom. If It's warm good if it's cool bad it's out of gas. That means leak in the system. If there is a leak, a new box may be cheaper than to fix it. If it is warm check the evaporator and evaporator fan. Make sure the fan is working and the evap-coil is not frozen.
I hope this helps.

If your condensor fan is running and the compressor is running then you will need a tech to look at the sealed system for you.
