I am having a lot of trouble getting my pictures from my canon rebel t3 onto my macbook air. My laptop is brand new and I am not very familiar with this computer. IPhoto does start up but then nothing else happens. It does not recognize the memory card and I can't get them on my computer.
The best way to download pictures from your camera to your computer involves removing the memory card from the camera and plugging it into a card reader (either built-in to the computer or connected via USB or FireWire). This is likely to be faster than connecting the camera to the computer, and won't run down your camera's batteries.
Once the card is plugged in, it will appear to your computer as a removable drive. You can use the operating system's drag&drop facility to copy pictures from the card to the computer's hard drive, the same way you copy any other files. Or you can use iPhoto or any other photo cataloging program.

Go to the Canon website and download the EOS Utility. All the software for your camera is there for download.
SOURCE: What does "BUSY" mean on my Canon Rebel T1i, while I'm trying to upload pictures onto my computer?
It means that the transfer is in process. It's letting you know that you shouldn't turn off your camera - it is busy!
