ACER 5610 DENIES ACCESS TO DVD DRIVE

IT ACTUALLY HAS A RED CIRCLE WITH THE LINE ACCROSS IT ON THE DVD DRIVE WHEN I GO TO MY COMPUTER. I CANNOT ACCESS ANY EXTERNAL MEMORY DEVICES USB OR MEMORY STICK. WHEN I LOOK AT PERMEISSIONS AND OWNERSHIP IT TELLS ME THAT IT CANNOT TELL ME WHO OWNER IS AND I CANNOT CHANGE THE OWNER. It sounds like you do not have account rights and since this is a firm laptop you may not be authorized to do with your domain login. Any changes made would effect the local hardware info and not your domain permissions which might be the root cause of the issue. Is anyone else in your group having the same issue? If so it would be a domain issue and not something able to be handled outside your firm.

You can verify this by try trying this see if you can go to a dos (command 'cmd' prompt) from start>run>typing in cmd and clik on 'ok'
the type net user and press enter
take a name like administrator if listed or another name (the point of that is to see what names are listed) and type
net user {whatever name without the brackets of course} *
you will be prompted for a password twice
then restart the pc and when you come to the login change the domain to the local pc and use the login name and password you just selected once there see if you can access any of the drives. If so then the issue is with your domain permissions or scripts and not your system or id.

HOW DO I OPEN THE DVD ON MY ACER ASPIRE E1-472P-6860 OPEN DVD DRIVE

On the DVD drive door there is a very small rectangular push button. It is about 5/32 inch wide by 3/8 inch long. it may take several several attempts at pushing the button but it should open the drive. If it does not open up the My Computer icon of your computer and left click on the DVD icon. When the drop down box appears select eject and right click on it. That should open your drive. I hope info this helps you.

D drive which is my dvd/cd drive has a red circle and a slash on it. it says access denied. how do i fix?

If confronted with this trouble I believe id go to the device manager and delete the drive then let windows reinstall it.

You may want to see what the comments are on the drive tab. There may be an upgraded driver available for hour device.

Is this computer yours and have you inadvertently restricted your access in the user profile?

Unable to find CD/DVD Drive on Acer Aspire 5610Z

1. Disconnect your CD/DVD
2. Uninstall magic iso
3. Use a good anti-virus and scan all your hard drives.
Reconnect your CD/DVD. Verify if it works.
4.If not, right-clic "My computer", manage, select disk manager, assign a different drive letter to all drives but C:. Reboot. Verify.
5. Lastly, make a backup, reformat all your drives, reinstall Windows.

CD/DVD drive and external harddrives via USB not acessable

I once had a problem like this. It turn out that i just forgot to plug of my external drive. because of the lack of power of the device, it wasnt functioning properly. Try to see if you have two USB plugs, or one Usb plugs with a power cable.  Re check if both of the plugs are indeed connected properly.

CD/DVD not working, lapto doesn't recognizes it

It sounds like a problem with part of the I/O for the CD drive on the mother board. If the computer is under warranty, I would see about sending it back for service.

Normaly, if you are using original supported devices, if the drive is not defective and the drivers are installed, it should work.

Pioneer DVR-K17RS ATA ACER CODE=39

Hi How old is this laptop? If it is brand new, then you should be able to send it back to acer. Its the problem with drive or mainboard not with the drivers.
Thanks
